Package tracking only when you use overnight ExpressMail.

A valid complaint. That brings it down to a 4 at most. :)

Yup, that put it down to a 4 for me. It would be a 5 if it had tracking. I use USPS when I ship things most of the time because I've never had a problem and they deliver fast.

I rated:

Fed Ex = 5
USPS = 4
UPS = 3

in couple hundred small and big incoming/outgoing packages i have had, the only time i had something broken/lost is with UPS, like 5 times. fedex seems to be somewhat faster, USPS is cheaper (on smaller stuff). when it comes to bigger stuff i would use fedex.

UPS gets a 4 because the delivery times in my area are inconsistant and sometimes the packages are a bit banged up and the hot woman doesn't deliver in my neighborhood anymore.

FedEx gets a 4 because they don't deliver on Saturday for free, Sunday doesn't count as one of the days in their 3-day shipping, and even though I've filled out the form to have packages left without signatures they still don't leave them without a signature.

USPS gets a 3 because I hate waiting in long lines at the post office to send things while the people at the counter take their sweet time doing everything when there's a line of 20 people, I hate being asked if I want any stamps or phone cards, packages sometimes get banged up, and sometimes I get a card in my mail that says a delivery was attempted but nobody was around to sign for the package so I have to go pick it up at the post office... and I've been home while the mail came, and watched the mail man deliver the mail and NOT attempt a delivery.

What the heck do you people do to get UPS to deliver quickly? I swear to god, their ground service is slower than a drunken koala. If something I order doesn't ship on Monday, I won't get it until the next week.

company around here did a test and shipped a package full of sensors to test how they treated packages. UPS's results looked like they had dragged the package behind the truck on a dirt road and fed ex was like it was barely touched. but they went with UPS because they were cheaper.

FedEx rocks mainly because of Newegg. I always get my packages on time or earlier. :) USPS is good for the small things that need to be shipped cheaply and make sure they get to their destination. UPS is only ok. I don't know how many packages I have had shipped only to have the delivery date rescheduled to some later date. Manily because it looks like the package was left on the dock and not delivered. :(

Fedex > USPS > UPS

USPS sucks for tracking, but I still chose them over UPS when I have a choice.

USPS is the WORST!
There is no guarantee when the package will arrive. You just have to pray it'll arrive on time. Last time I sent something with USPS, it took them 2 weeks to get it there, with no tracking update on the website. I just have to pray that the package wasn't lost and it'll still get there. I talked to USPS reps, and they just said there's no guarantee on when it'll arrive and I just need to be patient. What a load of crap.
Plus the lines for USPS are always 10-30 minutes long..
Not to mention the time when my teacher had us send homework through the mail during spring break... and USPS LOST IT!!!!! USPS is just way too sloppy on their work.

FedEx all the way for me. They have lower prices than USPS(if you goto their main sort facility to deliver), and they have very organized and responsive tracking system. Packages ALWAYS arrive on the promised date. NUFF SAID.
I haven't dealt with UPS much, but I used to ship with ups at a third party stationary store that charged inflated prices. They basically have the same tracking as fedex, so I pretty much got the same experience with UPS as I did with fedex, so no complaints here. I don't see what all the fuss with UPS is about.

Since when is the post office cheap? Any small package like 3 lbs or less is good for them and then they just become crazy expensive. DHL is where it's at. Cheap and fast, fedex is right there too.

Yeah, but Priority is still cheaper than Fedex or UPS.

I guess I've never really had a problem with UPS, but FedEx Ground always seems to be cheaper and includes insurance and tracking. Don't use USPS for anything.

Oh, I should mentioned I just shipped a taped-up Sterilite trashcan full of clothes from New Mexico to Nebraska using FedEx Ground and it went through fine. Yay for FedEx!

DHL has been around a long time, but only in select markets. They recently merged with Airborne Express, and everything has now been rebranded as DHL.

DHL > FedEx > UPS > USPS

UPS blows. "Fragile" means nothing to them. Does anyone know when UPS's damaged freight auctions are? I'd give anything to go to em. I've called 1800 pick UPS, but they aren't very forthcomign with info. I've tried google, and come up with nothing. Anyone know anything?

Um, that was A) Poorly packaged and B) Looks quite heavy. Put them together and you have a fvcked up piece of equipment. I've worked for UPS loading packages in trucks. My aunt and uncle both work for FedEx and I've taken a tour of the facilities. I ship via UPS daily out of my current work and back at Staples. Simply put, regardless, that box with that packaging would still have resulted in a broken ass piece of equipment. And writing fragile on it is THE STUPIDEST thing you can do when shipping a package via any courier. No one gives a sh!t if you think it's fragile or you write fragile. No one. If anything, it gets treated worse.

I think that most people are still unfamiliar with DHL; many more people still know them as Airborne Express. Furthermore, they had a smaller geographic coverage than the others did. Even though that's now changed, I think that they are, and have for a long time been, the best shipping company out there.
