You do guys realize that you have no clue what you're talking about, right?

Heh... I was thinking the same thing.

Come on, please don't make the US out to be some insecure controlling bully. :frown::D

i thought we already staked the US flag on the moon effectively saying "OUR MOON IS BELONG TO US"

I thought it was more of a "US WAS HERE" type of thing.

Well why the fvck would US spend billions of dollars to get to the moon only to say "US WAS HERE"?

To beat the guys trying to get there to say "USSR WAS HERE".

about the only other country right now that has a chance at doing it is Japan...maybe kinda sorta China in a decade. If Japan does though, I'm sure it won't be from lack of participation by the US.

Mexico also has a space program called MASA, dont under estimate the mexicans...

Personally, I think the US needs to finish conquering this planet before they can deign to go into conquering space land. They're only like 35% done. That way, we can send all the slaves we picked up from all the wars to precolonize the moon.

It'd be much better if we tried colonizing Mars. It's a hell of a lot easier to live off the land there than it is on Luna.

Not necessarily true. By virtue of it being so much nearer and it may well have enough resources to 'live off the land'

UV glass is really not hard to make at all

Terraforming the moon wouldn't be that hard, it would just be too costly to be worth doing. For energy, build solar panels on the parts of the moon that are always bathed in sunlight. Vegetation can provide ample oxygen and food if tended to. Fresh water is the second biggest problem, the biggest problem is being able to construct the facilities.

dude wtf are u smoking, uv glass won't protect from space radiation, you need to read some science magazines. Space radiation is not even UV radiation from the sun, altho some of it does come from there. Its like saying uv glass will protect you in chernobyl. We are (mostly) protected on earth because of 1. Electromagnetic force 2. Large buffer of atmosphere.

You would need either a large layer of water above (something like 30 feet thick at least) or be buried under surface of lets say 100 feet to be protected.

That is the problem NASA is facing currently, they are trying to develop something that would let a man come to mars, but since to travel to mars takes year plus, some large% of human DNA will be destroyed

Read up on history. That is basicly why we did it.
