How will Subway pitchman Jared Fogle weather FBI investigation?

I am in no way accusing Jared of anything, but it strikes me as strange that his attorney has stated that he is cooperating with the investigation, but has NOT stated that he is not guilty. That may be a by-product of the fact that this guy is not a criminal lawyer, but it's odd that he is not denying Fogle's guilt.

OK, glad you can get past the "Jared isn't involved" part, because owning computers with child porn in your house, business or no, if you put the data there or not, means you're fucking involved.

Show me where I threw him under the bus. I specifically said he may or may not be guilty and (if he's charged) he's due his day in court.

That's pretty much the opposite of throwing him under the bus.

They seem to be using the exact same templates no less. WFAA's page is basically identical to KGW's and they aren't even the same station (ABC vs NBC).

It is terrible design and I had no idea it was that widespread.

There is a reason for that. All stations owned by or affiliated with Tegna(formerly Gannett) or have support service contracts with Tegna ALL use the same website template. That is Tegna's web platform.

Unfortunately I googled it before you fixed the transposed letters (or maybe I just misread them) Tegna != Tenga. 🙁

Was not aware of that particularly organization and I work in TV (and have done work in KGW's facility).

I suspect there are individuals that throw a wide net into the internet to catch and collect porn and are afraid that something bad might be lurking in the terabytes of collected porn they own.

So they get all defensive every time they hear a story about cops taking computers.


BTW: Cops can't just come in and take computers without some kind of hard reasonable suspicion if they want a judge to sign the warrant.

I used to dl a lot of stuff from usenet sight unseen. It's amazing (and a little frightening) some of the shit that can end up on your hard drive w/o realizing it.

I find it hard to believe a person with black market child porn ring leader in their background would voluntarily become a public figure. And its not just that he used to watch it...if someone can point to you in a line up and say 'I got the child porn from him!', you stay out of the public eye. He would have been blackmailed by someone as soon as he became famous.
 
Shouldn't the real news be focused on the former head of his nonprofit foundation and how he mixed the organization's files with his porn collection?
If he is innocent and judging from history, I'd say his image is already permanently tarnished and Subway will probably end up ditching him completely within a month or so and will quickly find a new ad campaign in veiled attempts to wipe away the memories.

Channel 8 news literally made a 30 second self promotion stating how they were the first on the scene at Jered's house and therefore always first with the news. I thought it was kind of sad that they used Jered as their step stool to tell channel 8 viewers how they are the most up to date on news just because they arrived on scene at Jared's house first...really? To fuck with jared though right channel 8?

Imo, the news should have focused briefly just stating the facts about how this is due to the involvement of his former head, Taylor and the fact that Taylor mixed work files with his kid porn collection?...not this let's spend 10 minutes talking about Jared himself, at least not yet, instead I must have heard the term child pornography ring a dozen times as they showed Jared and the FBI walking about with little mention of Taylor or why the FBI is raiding Jared.

The serious answer to your question is YES a bunch of cops show up with subpoenas to seize your computers when you're innocent, because if you were found guilty the investigation would already be over by that point.

Correct. It's possible the former exec of his company sang a little birdy song in prison. That certainly would rise to probable cause, but who knows? This guy hasn't been arrested or accused of a crime yet, so more to come.

I also hate this kind of "wink wink" coverage. You know, JARED INVESTIVATED FOR BAD STUFF, COMPUTERS SEIZEDS, no charges yet lol
