You're barking up the wrong tree. Vic seems more cranky that he used to be, but certainly not partisan.

Well, I do have a strong disdain for zealots who want to turn their religious beliefs into law.
And I have nothing but scorn for doom and gloom chicken littles. During this the Bush administration, this made a lot of people believe I was pro Republican, so it's no surprise to me that the opposite is happening now with a Democrat in the white house. Nor do I really care.
Nice to see you again, BoberFett. When picking on these idealistic young commies, do try to remember that there's no shortage of crazies on the other side too.

Why do ignorant lefties always lump the functions of local government and the miniscule budgets they operate on to provide police, fire departments and schools with the crushing weight of an out of control federal government?

It's almost like they don't have a real argument...

So much hate. Not surprising, the left is full of hate.

No surprise, really, that you can't read. The military along with its industrial complex is neither minuscule nor a local government function.

I really can't help you with you're hate projections, however, because you won't go near the pain and your own anger about it that it springs from. But if we could make a world more in line with our highest aspirations perhaps fewer of us would grow up so needful of revenge.

What is the point of your disdain and why do you feel it? Same with the scorn.

I agree. We should have no taxes and no government. I am so sick of paying for national defense, national security, police and fire, roads and bridges schools and everything else government does that I don't need. And I really don't give a fuck if you live or die. I can take care of myself you third party pea brained piece of shit. Don't touch my fucking money for anything. You are so childishly stupid and imbecilic it's beyond words.

Now, am I violently angry or am I laughing my ass off at you who can't rub two brain cells together to formulate a single coherent thought? That's right, I'm laughing my ass off at you and the other egotistical dunces like MagicMan whose magic consists of the ego inflation he gets from imagining himself important enough for me to bother to hate.

You poor poor sad self hating fools. Somebody talks about love and compassion, caring and hope, lifting humanity up and all you do is shit. But it's OK. You are sure you're capable of nothing else and I know differently. Your slime only buries the pure pearl of the real self that is hidden beneath it. Love your pearl. May your shadows ever increase.

Perhaps I agree with everything you say here, and I feel your pain -- love your sarcasm in the first Para. I just think this is all about various people putting the cart before the horse. "I want the economy to work this thus and such way, and I'm bent on imposing those [defunct, classical economic paradigms) on everyone else." In other words, construct the belief, look for single observations (but not a sampled handful) to rationalize it, display a naïve view of causation and perhaps the simplistic assumption that some event or result only has a single cause.

I've toyed with the idea recently of ordering magnetic bumper stickers -- a pair of them -- which readily suggests the message is too big:

#1: "You think you're a Tea Party Patriot seeking roadside assistance . . . "
#2: " . . . but you're really just the Cornpone Tory S***A** in my rear-view mirror . . . "

What is the point of your disdain and why do you feel it? Same with the scorn.

I don't believe in beliefs (yes, I know how that sounds). I believe in facts and logic.
As for doom and gloom, it's always wrong on the macroscopic scale. Just look around you.

You're not very bright, are you?

Oh I did. It told me to never trust anything written in books and it was authoritative.

As for the depressed being more objective and good at solving real world problems I really can't argue against. I used to be black with depression. I lost my belief in everything I held precious. I knew that my life would never ever again be happy, that if I stayed alive I would live in endless loneliness and despair. I gave up on the notion there were answers, that I was more objective or that I could solve anything. I just let go asking why why why and it all ended suddenly. The moment I completely surrendered I won. I didn't do a thing. The truth was always all my life there but only when I am not. You are not who you think you are. This message of hope is brought to you from the beyond.

Wow that explains a lot. Your mind cracked under the pain and went into depressive psychosis.

I rest my case. You aren't enlightened, by any stretch of the imagination, you're one of the most disturbed, hate-filled narcissists around. Based on your own words, it's plainly evident that don't practice anything of what you preach, resigning yourself to pounding out your anger on some anonymous forum in a vain attempt to reconcile what you feel to be true (patience and tolerance) and what you actually portray (fear and impotent rage).

As I said before, you desperately need a therapist, and possibly a number of psychopharmaceuticals.

I said nothing about being bright, but help me out. Was I wrong that the military is not a local government expense. Was I wrong to suggest that just as I have to pay for your defense or any of the other government functions you may believe in, you have to pay for government aid, that we are both bound by the will of the people? And why would you suggest I'm not very intelligent if you hadn't already felt the sting to the ego such words can bring, if you hadn't in your own past been made to feel stupid yourself? Where does your feeling of contempt for the stupid come from? You never look at yourself and the result is that you see those unknowns in others. You are afraid of what is within you and I suggest there's nothing real to fear there. Believe that in your deepest core you are good. It will change the way you see things. You have a wonderful mind and I have always especially liked you.

Why do you think I said you were lumping together all functions of government as if it's all related. The tendency of a massive out of control federal government to create massive standing armies and use them to repeatedly invade other countries has NOTHING to do with the ability of local government to put a few cops on the street.

So, and we'll see if your tiny mind can keep up with this idea, it's silly to try to imply that if you don't want a federal government which spends trillions on the military, that you must not want firemen either.

Again, you're not very bright.

Vic: I don't believe in beliefs (yes, I know how that sounds). I believe in facts and logic.

M: I am constantly aware of how it sounds. It amuses me endlessly, that there is a certainty that comes from doubt, the instinctual recognition by those who are empty of canned solutions, to recognize instantly notions that are deeply engrained by propaganda and inculcation and devoid of fact or logic. But you must know also that the common sense that you have can't be given to others who life in an altered reality. You can't tell the believer that his opinions are emotionally based. Every true believer believes that what he believes is good. I offered a possible avenue of hope, therefore, that the notion of what is good might be expanded by an emotional appeal to the highest emotions that people feel.

V: As for doom and gloom, it's always wrong on the macroscopic scale. Just look around you.

M: I believe that humanity is asleep living in an upside down world, that the fear of the other will cause that fear to come true. I believe also that the level of conscious awareness to see this isn't very common. This is factually logical to me based on the data I see. But I don't see this as doom and gloom but only as fact. We have met the enemy and he is us. What I know I offer because I want to. I attribute my interest to the love of life. But I would be interested to hear if you had some other doom and gloom in mind and what I would see on a macroscopic scale. I am not sure at all as to what you may have had in mind.

Meh. Even fear and hate serve valid purposes, I just make a personal choice not to be their instrument.

Ah, I see. But it wasn't me that wasn't very bright, then, it was the person who posted this:

"It(OBAMACARE), you mean me and you and everyone else through our taxes. So I have to ask, why did you not offer your own money to cover these people? Why force others through threat of govt to give their money up to cover people who won't pay for themselves?

That liberalism, fake compassion. Thinking that forcing others to give up their money to a third party equates to helping."

By third parties he had to have meant everybody who is some way from taxes. I simply suggested the post was foolish because taxes create many benefits and the poster made no distinction. I was simply trying to point out to him the shallow nature of his thinking. You raised a completely different issue because you've attached a hot button to it. This is what I call having a sore toe that you stick out into the aisle. So I didn't lump together that wasn't already lumped together. My point had nothing whatever to do with equating two different things. They are different and they cost different amounts, but they are all paid for by taxes. Now if you really believe you have some valid issue here, help yourself.

There's no reason to be petulant about it, you live in an area with more shrinks /sq mile than anywhere else in the world. Psychiatric care is readily available. 😕

Thank you again this time for showing me the true meaning of petulant. Maybe it would help me to go if I knew what your experience has been. I assume your recommendation is based on some perceived personal benefits, right?

I would have to agree with this. Though I still harbor the notion that moonie is just trolling.

You're his sockpuppet, you'd know better than most, I'm sure.

LOL Smartest thing posted in this thread.

Why? If you walk east on the earth't equator the south poll is to your right and
The North Pole to your left. If you take a left1 and walk to the North Pole and take your second left you will reach the equator a fourth of the circumference of the earth to the west of where you began. If you make your third left at the equator you will be heading east and not south. You have to get beyond the two dimensional thinking.

Do you remember that time when you and MM we're traveling down the road and I appeared farther along in the distance and I pointed at the sky to indicate that one beautiful truth that covers us all? You held up a rope you were carrying to indicate that ordinary people try to reach it by means as ridiculous as climbing up a rope and MM said good, he is clearly in need of mental help and if he tries anything funny we can tie him up.

Ah... a brain teaser.... Let's see...

If I walk East along the equator then take a left to the north pole then another left at that point back to the equator and walk East again I'll have created a triangle of 270 degrees.... proving that the Earth is indeed a globe and that the bible is wrong as well as many of Euclid's smartest Alabamy dwellers.

Being three dimensional folks we can't easily except by analogy deal with Three dimensional concepts.... probably...
It appears some folks live in a bubble of their own delusions unaware of the bubble nor the delusions... They live in yesterday or tomorrow without the knowledge they are stuck in today... They are always in today and that is the only place they can bring their mind to reality with a bit of effort or a lot in some cases.

hehehehe Yes, I recall.

I do see lots of folks with full tea cups as well.... while looking for their keys where they can't be found...

Ahh Moonie, always posting on one account from your computer (Moonbeam) and the other from your phone (LunarRay), so the IP addresses don't match, covering up the fact you've been talking to yourself... for years. Moon = Lunar, Ray = beam. That's sooo clever. :whiste:

That may be the most compelling reason of all for you to find professional help, because by now I believe you really do see each account as a distinct personality.
