How to kill my beloved fish?

I am very sorry that I am so freaked out about this. It's just really something I feel strongly about. People don't see fish as real pets and do really crappy things to them and it just bugs the CRAP out of me. FISH ARE PEOPLE TOO! (LOL just kidding)

I think gage is upset because s(he) told him about a way of saving the fish, and instead of giving it a few days and trying to do that, he just went with killing it. i agree, if the fish meant that much to him, he could have waited 3 more days.

I hope if you get constipated, someone does your ass in too. And takes pics, and videos too of course. Beloved my ass, if you loved it so much, you would have tried some of the advice given here. Now, when someone posted a thread about a kid killing a dog, so many people here wanted the kid killed/maimed etc. so on. But since its a fish, which is still a living breathing thing, then its ok? I don't get people sometimes, I really don't.

OTOH, he may have had Dropsy (description) and most of the time by the time the symptoms show enough for you to realize it, he's as good as dead. I have had 3 or 4 bettas pick up dropsy and no amount of kanacyn, epsom salt and melafix saved them.

I had a goldfish get dropsy. She got better and lived 10 more years and had many baby goldfish before we moved and had to give her away to someone else with a pond.

instead of getting Spike 2.0, try Spike 1.5 by trying to resuscitate him. warm his body up by rubbing alcohol all over, then you know the CPR routine. if that doesn't work, it will make a wonderful sushi.

Again..... I WENT TO THE PET STORE. The dude said that he probably has a bacteria or fungus and to give him these pellets. They looked like Alka-Selzer and they disolved in his tank. 2 days later, he was still siting there and sometimes flippin and spinnin all around, then floating to the bottom.
The Pet store guy also said that they only live for like 2 years, so he is probably going to die.

What more did you want me to do? How is he gonna eat peas when he won't eat food that he LIKES? If a little kid is sick and won't eat anything for 3 days, then you lay a brussel sprout in front of him.....he's NOT going to eat it.

I was sick of watching him suffer, so I killed him for his own good......NOT for my pleasure.

I will post some pics in a few days of Spike 2.0 when I get him (if PETA will allow me to own another animal that is).

Oh and another point. He lived over 2 glorious years in a FILTERED and AIR ENRICHED 3 Gallon Tank! That is better than most people who keep them in their 1 ounce glass jar and NEVER clean the water.

1.Fish love peas. They also like lettuce.
2. I would not drown my child for not eating brussel sprouts.

I give you props for trying the medicine the petstore gave you. I just wish you would have tried what was suggested as well.

Here is the freakin tablets I gave him too:

Jungle Fungus Clear:
Fast dissolving pre-measured tablets used to treat fungus, tail/fin rot, septicemia, clamped fins and dropsy

1 Gallon Dosage:
Dissolve 1 tablet in 10 tablespoons of water. Add 1 tablespoon of concentrate mixture to 1 gallon. Wait four days until you do a second dosage. If you must do a second dose: Change 25% of the water and repeat dosage.

I found them on Petsmart.com.
