Over a year and a half later, we're still together and happily wedding planning.

I was just trying to help, and hope some guy on here will find what I posted useful.

So much for trying to help around here, it's become such a hostile place for my fiance and I that I hardly post at all anymore.

That's a good thing. I just don't take your advice seriously because I hold very different views on engagements that you two apparently do. Big deal, though. I really hope it works out for you two, though.

I'd watch what you say, kid. My fiance reads the forums, and I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate that.

Oh NO! Everybody be careful what you say or her boyfriend will ... will uh...

Wait what's he gonna do over the internet?

...

OMG he's slap you with his 20-mile long e-penis!!

As rude as his comment was, you have little recourse. What is your fiance going to do? Reach through his computer and defend your honor with a pimp slap?

That being said, I'd like to believe what you have to say. Not sure I do at this point in my life.

It's not about "dude I'm gonna kick your ass on the intarnet," it's about showing some basic respect and decency. Then again, asking some children (or people who act like children) to show some respect for other people's feelings around here is like telling the sun to stop rising every morning.

Still, lines must be drawn or this is no longer a safe/comfortable environment for many people to be in.

I know someone said confidence is BS but that is really all I had in my dating days. Noability, no trendy clothes, an old car, very little money, not very good looking......

it was the giant schlong wasn't it?

nope. I'm not exactly lacking in that area but I didn't whip it out and hypnotize them with it either

wow, you're a tough crowd. you actually thought i was asking a serious question! lighten up QBM!!! :p don't take anything i say seriously. ;)
I don't :p and I just forgot the ;) or :p

Agreed. Completely uncalled for and unnecessary. If anyone else called any of the female in committed relationships around here (GeekBabe, Lola, etc.) that name, they'd be attacked. For some reason, when it's applied to me it's tolerated. And that, IMO, is not okay.

maybe they just forgot to put "attention" in front of it... i mean, not saying that you are, but... if they would have, it would have been ok... (read: not as bad)...

Forget about just getting "attacked", the offending poster would get the thread locked and a week's vacation.

You, on the other hand, are an attention-whoring slut. So no one cares what's said about you.

That wasn't the intent. You know that, I know that, and anyone else with common sense who read the post would know that.

"Slut" is unnecessary. Once again, why the name-bashing? I don't even know who you are.

I was when I was 18. Believe it or not, things change and people change over the years. It's sad so many people like to live in the past.

I know, meltdown75. Thanks for trying. You're one of the few voices of reason around here, and one of the reasons I'm still around.

Thats because the females you listed have some sort of self respect. And I've seen Geekbabe attacked before when she crosses the line. I've also seen some amazing posts out of her...you are just an idiot. "OMG SOMEONE HACKED MY ACCOUNT." Did a mod post varifying your side of the story that I am unaware of? Why are you, who got engaged in 6 weeks, giving out dating advice...you have hardly dated.

tomato, it seems that all of your threads digress into this.

i really don't understand why some people seem hell bent on disrespecting someone they've never meant. *shrug*

anyways, thanks for the advice :D

I was contacted via phone by a mod who verified my side of the story, and he explained how many ATOT usernames/passwords were accidentally on display.

I may have posted some silly things in the past, but nobody's dumb enough to joke around something as serious as questionable infidelity. Especially when it comes to me, as I am very open about my happiness with my relationship and my fiance.

Neither do I. Heck, I don't even know anything about most of the people who choose to bash me... I've never PM-ed them, spoken to them, or addressed them directly in any way I can remember. Some people around here have some serious, serious issues and need to woman-hate... guess I'm the unfortunate target.

Oh, and you are very welcome... I hope it helps. :)

He just forgot to preface his comment with "attention". ;)
Honestly, he was wrong and needs a time out.

Tell you what...you get a mod to back up your story, My bet is 50% of the negative responses you have here would go away. Until that time, I have no reason to believe your side of things.

don't you remember the avg. age of the people are on this forum (a poll taken couple years back):

it was ~16, and a mod (and all of us apparantly) agree it's a little younger than that.

I wouldn't be too upset by it Tomato; in truth no one here really knows anybody (at least for the vast majority), it's simply a convenient outlet for self gratification. "If it feels good, do it". The anonymity here allows the chicksh1ts to spew all the hurtful things they have sloshing around in their heads without the natural reprecussions that would be incured if they uttered the same garbage in reality.

In your case, whether true or not, people here percieved you as being unfaithful to your fiance' and that sort of behavior brings out very aggressive tendencies in males; it's really very primitive. Coupled with anonymity, this aggression is not stiffled by social graces and general accountability for ones actions. If Pheonix were to say some of things he does on the boards IRL, he'd a very lonely, very battered guy. So I guess, for what it's worth, keep yourself as grounded as possible and don't take people too seriously. Even though the thoughts expressed here may be utterly raw and unfiltered, not every one here is a bad apple. Just try to Ignore those that are.

The Mods did say that her account was hacked.
