More FUD for the masses...and they eat it up like it's going out of style!

The CBO study presumes ACA repeal without any replacement plan...which we know is currently being formulated...false premise is false premise. But hey...the sky is fucking falling! Oh noes!

May I have some more FUD please?

Of course the CBO does that. It does not estimate results based on magical, nonexistent legislation. That is the opposite of FUD. If they did what you say they would be lying to Congress.

The CBO is run by Republicans, genius.

Way to take his words or of context... That's not what he's saying...

He's saying all the constituents concerned about losing their healthcare coverage are lefties...Because obviously no self respecting GOPer would be using Obummercare....Right???

Republicans opted out of Obamacare and instead went with the ACA.

Somehow that problem seems to have been solved quite some time ago with the invention of open enrollment periods, which could also help solve some of the "pre-existing condition" problems. We could also require some sort of "escrow" account to prevent short-term insurance lapses and allow for "forced placement" insurance funded by payroll garnishments if someone dropped insurance and later sought medical treatment without being able to pay cash.

Which provides the required subsidies in what way, exactly?

Okay true. Either way point still stands. He wants all Americans insured and to negotiate with drug companies.

Might as well just tuck this one away to see where it goes.

Do not open in until Jan 20!!!

Then all of your wildest dreams will come true!!!

I figure they'll break it, dither around coming up with a completely ridiculous "plan" that Dems will filibuster, then blame Dems for breaking it. And they'll be believed in this post-truth era, too.

Free Market healthcare insurance, baby! Not to mention that the 1% will get a 0.9% tax cut which will make it all totally worth it. And that's just the beginning! With the planned tax cuts at the top, there will be so much trickle down that we'll think we're drowning!

Just curious, Republicans have voted to repeal the ACA around 70 times in the last 5 years. Should the replacement be ready to go? Why are they just developing it now?

the party of bad ideas vs the party of no ideas.

Which means tens of millions of Americans won't be able to afford healthcare, obviously.

But, FYGM anyway, right?

You could be honest and resort to theft to get the money that you didn't earn and don't deserve.

I have no doubt that's what they will try.

Enough dopes will believe them surely, but messing with people's healthcare is very serious and there will be many pissed off people.

I feel like this will be able rerun of Bush/Iraq war.
Many will be for it when it's about kicking ass and bombing shit. When it's their family and friends coming home maimed in IEDs, it's suddenly real.

I think I could get on board with public healthcare if it was limited to children and adults that don't engage in unhealthy behaviors with no assets to liquidate. America has some of the most unhealthy and least compassion-worthy individuals on the face of the planet. You can't easily compare a German with cancer to an American with cancer without knowing some background. Many Americans deserve to die for their incompetence.

You're a pretty shitty person.

But I'm a shitty person who will have more money to spend on my kids since I live in a country that just voted to let people use their own money to buy healthcare instead of mine. Unless you're the kind of person who roots for Nigerian email scam perpetrators then you should be happy also. It might do you some good to stop using the excuse of "collective action problem" to avoid charity.

How Christian of you.

So how much more money do you think you are getting from this?

Where is it coming from?

It is Christian actually. Jesus wanted us to engage in direct and personal charity, not ask government to do it for you by having tax collectors poach from those you think can afford it so you can feel good about "helping" your fellow man on someone else's dime. Jesus offered direct and personal help by healing the sick himself, he didn't go around with the excuse of 'collective action problem' and leading protests demanding Caesar provide a "public option." The people who wait for "the government" to do it for you are exactly the kind of people He flogged in the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Yet here you are whining about others using your Tax dollars. Jesus wasn't preaching about Voluntary charity. To sum up what he said: If someone asks you for X, you give them X x 2. He didn't say it's optional, nor did he say you were supposed to quibble about it, you are required to give more than what is asked.

Relatedly, he also said, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's". He didn't call it "Theft", he didn't stipulate conditions on it. Not only that, he made it clear that how you treat the weakest within society is how you treat him.

If you are a Christian, there are at least 3 strikes against you.

Since the election of Trump and GOP Congress fortunately Caesar is no longer going to demand we give unto so he can spend it. We'll just have to rely on good old direct charity instead. Well at least some of us will, others will "collective action problem" their way over the dead bodies in their way.

Time for "Cesar" talk and other verbal masturbation is running out. Time for Republicans to have a replacement for Obamacare is approaching.
