Great idea, rip's post has really helped me see how much Planned Parenthood needs our help. I guess you could say rip's posts are helping planned parenthood.

I almost missed it in all of Rip's proselytizing; however the ACLU needs your support as well to defend us from the religious extremists in this country who want to legislate their morality and from our current administration that finds it all too easy to weaken our civil liberties.

BECOME A CARD-CARRYING MEMBER OF THE ACLU TODAY!

Thanks for your support!

Link doesn't work for me...

I've donated for years, BTW, I might have a conservative bent, but the ACLU/PP do a lot of good.

What's wrong with surpressing our human instincts? It's called self-control.

When are you going to show some integrity?

There's no good reason to suppress our human instincts.

I bet that's what a lot of criminals say - until they end up in jail.

Red herring - that has nothing to do with THIS discussion.

I've also noticed that you conveniently ignored my claim about statistics in Europe. I'll expand on those for your enlightenment, though I don't think you'll listen:

In Europe, abstinence-only sex education is mocked and derided, quite deservedly. Instead, youth get much more in depth sex education including learning how to properly use condoms and other forms of protection. What are the results?

Teen STD rates are significantly lower than in America.
Teen pregnancy is significantly lower than in America.
There are fewer abortions than in America.
And ironically, European teens even have their first sexual experience later on than American teens.

You have no case.

And while I have your attention, when are you going to show some integrity and change your signature?

Here's some statistics:

There's been about 45 million abortions in the US since 1973
About 500,000 Americans have dies of AIDS.
About 45 million Americans have an STD and it's estimated that 30 - 50% of college students are carrying the genital herpes virus.

45 million potential deadbeat dads, with society picking up the tab. 45 million potential children in foster care, society picking up the tab. Thank goodness we've had women's right to choose in this country

AIDS is not exclusively a sex disease. it was also spread by blood transfusions before we knew how to screen for it. They don't know how AIDS got started.

Heh I'll pass. I prefer to contribute to local charities where I know (or have reason to believe) my $$ won't be spent on frivolity.

PS what happened to my link in your sig? ;)

Family planning and civil liberties aren't frivolous. Cheers.

In my mind, defending NAMBLA goes beyond frivolity, its downright immoral. I agree.

Oh, I noticed that you took down your list of communist-sympathizers. ;)

Although, I do find it interesting from a psychological-level, that someone around here would feel compelled to keep notes on other members and the various things they say.

So you think there should be civil liberties only for people you agree with or think are moral?

Were they defending NAMBLA or were they defending free-speech rights?

Does this apply to everyone? I mean others have lists too - no?

Csg, are you talking about your list of people who you deemed not to support the troops? Who has lists?

I don't have a "list". I used to have a list(or rather just notes) when I was new so I could keep people straight but that was many OS reinstalls ago so it's long gone.

There are other "lists".

What OS do you use? I would definitely guess you are a big MS fan. But I could be wrong.

What are the other lists?

Yes, good. Now that you're in your "safe place" I want you to tell me where the bad men touched you. Was it bad touch or good touch? :D

Yes it applies to everyone. Frankly, I'm not aware of anyone else's list(s) or whether they even exist. Give me some URLs.

Well, being a hardware hobbyist, I frequently change hardware and try new things. Having M$ OS products doesn't allow some of the transitions and changes to go smoothly.

As for the other list(s) - I do believe they are mentioned in other threads.

<The individual you mentioned> doesn't have his list posted on the web for all to see, does he? If so, please provide the URL. In Alchemize's case, he had a publicly-viewable web page with a large list of "incriminating" quotes from various liberals on these boards. I found that interesting, but I'm sure you'll excuse it as his intention was railing against the alleged "liberal bias" of AT. Personally, I found it abhorrent as I do every instance of pressure exerted to chill free-speech. You should know that much about me by now . . .

No, you were correct - thus the many OS installs;) I do have a linux box that I play with once in a while but usually just collects dust. In my line of work the software we use is for M$ products so I'm sort of stuck with that.(I work from home at night and on weekends if things need to get done)

Csg, how many computers do you have at home, are they networked, and have you ever thought of a terminal system?
