I drive like an old man. However, if I'm in my Camaro and there is a long straight deserted on-ramp to the e-way I just might talk myself into coming to a full stop and ...oh well.

I know it's tempting to drive fast, I was young once too, and I'm not a hypocrite, I sped waaay too much in my time, but try to grow up faster. I was lucky, didn't have a wreck and didn't get caught doing 100+ (did get caught pretty close to that though, bleh),

This has nothing to do with growing up, it has everything to do with being a massive idiot, something the OP time and again has proved himself more than capable of being infallibly.

The car can only handle so much stress, and the driver is not a race driver, he doesn't have the skills, and even if he did, he'd have the common sense to either go on a drag strip or a track (which is equally rewarding as going on a public road, only smart people who don't drive shitty cars and try compensate for their ugly mugs and small dicks use the track, so I doubt the OP could) and satisfy his endorphin rush there instead of endangering illegal immigrants as they try to cross the road.

God damn... another one of these threads

Mine was much better, admit it.

The track is not open 24/7 and is costly. Also, there is no open track here anyway.(Dragstrip is semi-open, but only on certain nights) So, that's not really an option...

And I have the common sense to know what I do has no real danger. I don't have to have fear about anything the car will or will not do when I am driving it. I have plenty of distance to slow down and stop... It's not like I try to go 150mph on a 1/4 mile of road before it makes a 90 degree turn... >.>

And most people don't think "I'm going to go out racing tonight" every time they head out the door, they think "I'm going to get dinner" or "I'm going to work". Most incidents are on the street and completely spontaneous. Some random jack ass revving or rolling on the light or rolling up behind you fast with HID high beams and 22s and temp tags to slingshot around you thinking he's got something, and you waste him on green and yank him back by the collar. Or some douche trying to take cuts and cut you off at a merge with inches to spare when there is a mile of empty road behind you, and you just bury to pedal and say "uh unh dipshit". There is no prepring for that, and you can't do that at the track. Spontaneous is spontaneous.

the problem is not so much you went 100mph, its that you did that on a 30mph posted road. That means a few things: a)in the city b)the road is residential c)the road is curvy.

I'll admit to having done 115mph, but that was on a 55mph road with a clear shot for about a mile with no one in sight.

Fixed that for you. And it's far more dangerous to go 115mph on the freeways here even without anyone on them. They're just full of debris and potholes everywhere.

Like, really?

Assuming you even can. I understand if you can't if you have to go through all very clogged up traffic on your commutes.

I don't see the point in having a car that is fast if you don't drive it fast. :/ May as well get a Prius.

Every now and again. I even get traffic to move out of my way. :D

What kind of shitty highways do you have?

Shitty ones with apparently no budget... :(

I'll admit there are probably some parts of the freeways/highways that I could just let it go on but they are just full of cops because everyone knows those are semi-decent roads. :p

I see 120+ on my Speedo at least once a month. Blowing past someone for a few seconds on the highway is too easy to do when you're not in a 4 banger.

Call it insecurity if you will, I feel I am a much safer and more responsible driver and overall have a better road attitude in a fast car, even with an occasional burnout or sideways flick of the rear end, than in a slow helpless car feeling like a target all the time.

This. I can't say I'm susceptible to the rear end kicking out (FWD), but it's better to have the fast car and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I don't mean just over the speed limit by like 5-10mph. I mean like 20mph(If it's 65, you're going 85<. If it's 25, you'll go 45<) over when it's possible.

Rarely. That much over makes you a giant target for LEOs.

LOL, come to think of it, the OP drives a mid-90s Civic that probably tops out at around 115 mph. Which would mean about 1.5 minutes of WOT to hit that speed :D.

I think we're being trolled massively.

I think the OP has thoroughly proved he's an idiot. I've driven plenty fast on sometimes, but I do it on empty highways. Driving 30 or 40 over on a road that's not limited access (at grade crossings, driveways, etc) is a great way to have somebody or something jump out in front of you. I don't care how open you think the road is or how aware you are of what is ahead of you, it's still dangerous. I hope you get caught and lose your license before you kill someone.
