It depends. If I'm in the mood I'll take it a little faster, especially if I'm on the bike, if some jackass comes flying up behind me in a hurry though I'll definitely go the speed limit or maybe even a little slower.

Rarely ever go above 70MPH. The mighty Saturn is already a rattletrap, I don't need it to be a deathtrap too.

I am going by his past posts, or are you saying he is that way all the time?

I was being sarcastic. I am massively sarcastic. I'm just never in a place where there are so many people that take government as a religion and cannot ever imagine it being wrong.

The track is not open 24/7 and is costly. Also, there is no open track here anyway.(Dragstrip is semi-open, but only on certain nights) So, that's not really an option...

If you want to play you need to be willing to pay. Just because it's not convenient for you to drive fast on a track doesn't give you the right to do it wherever you want.

And I have the common sense to know what I do has no real danger. I don't have to have fear about anything the car will or will not do when I am driving it. I have plenty of distance to slow down and stop... It's not like I try to go 150mph on a 1/4 mile of road before it makes a 90 degree turn... >.>

No, you don't. If you think you blasting down a road with any sort of driveways or at grade crossings at 100+ is safe you're sorely confused. You made it clear you weren't on a highway. Doing it on the highway isn't the brightest thing to do but it's not really that crazy. Doing it on a 'semi-residential' street like you called it is just stupid.

You've only been old enough to drive for a few years. Don't assume that you really know everything about your abilities or what's safe yet. If everyone that has more experience than you says its a bad idea then maybe you should listen.

In my pickup, I drive like an old woman, slow starts, easy stops, and generally under the limit. The V-Rod is an entirely different story, I like to hit second gear getting on the freeway and let wind to to 9k, it's an incredible rush.

In high school, I lived in the middle of nowhere with miles of highway. I'd hit my cars top speed of about ~135-140 a few times a week.

I don't do that shit anymore though.

i'll drive 5-10 above the limit, or a few mph faster than surrounding traffic usually. if i'm the only one on the road and my radar detector isn't saying anything, i might hit 85 on a straight or have some fun if there are bends.

Most of the time i'm 5 - 10 above the limit. On highways I can go 15-20 above depending on surrounding traffic. However, I never go above 80 b/c that's reckless in VA so I usually max around 75. I drive a Fit so it's not even fast anyways (pretty smooth at cruisin though)

Where the fuck do you guys do this shit, above 100 regularly? Hell in CA they'll impound your car for that.

Considering I don't own the cars I drive, I do at most 80-85 in them.

I try to stay out of the left lane.

I'm in MA, but doing 100 for a few seconds anywhere is not dangerous, unless you happen to be very unlucky.

On the road? Not for quite some time now. (Realized that my d*ck was big enough that I didn't need to compensate by driving like a retard and endangering others on the streets.)

On a track? I've seen the happy side of 140 many times and it's a hell of a lot of fun.

I never drive fast, since I only consider "fast" to be faster than mach 1. If there's no sonic boom, you aren't fast. Car's simply don't move fast.

As far as for driving slow.
There are many reasons to not buy a prius, they handle like a bucket of pudding, they accelerate very slowly, and they are very ugly.

I never understood the interest in driving 100+ mph in a car. I guess I do get a speed rush going 60 on skis or going 250 in the cockpit of an airplane, but 100+ in a car just never felt very exciting. In fact, since I've only done it in Europe where the trains would smoke me, it felt fairly slow.
