I always give $2 and some change. So if its $17.30, i'll give him a $20. The price of the pizza(s) doesn't really affect my amount of tipping because the guy is doing the same amount of work regardless of the price of the bill. Unless of course I order 10 pizzas.

Nothing. They get paid to give me my pizza. I also throw the money out the door (a bunch of singles) and make them run and get it before it blows away in the wind while I laugh.

Do you enjoy the extra "special" sauce they put on there for you?

;)

3 + change is the a good tip from a "regular," IMHO, and 4-5 is memorable. To be honest, $2 + the change is slightly below average.

Of course, I work in "Uptown," so over-tipping is common, but allows me to make pretty good money ($15-20/hr) for a part time job. Of course, I do drive my own car for work, and that's a very significant expense. That means that the job is not so good in the long run, which is why I'm in schoolnow.

Never tip less than two bucks, even on an $8 pie. To the guy you?re tipping, an $8 order is about the same amount of work as a more average sized $20 order, so less than a $2 tip, just because you didn?t order much, doesn?t feel particularly ?fair? for the work, the gasoline, and the car itself.

This is why I think the tipping system is bad. I am not supposed to pay this guys salary, the pizza place is.
