I'm not going to disagree with you there. Mandatory health benefits and a fully insured company car to use should also be included with my salary. :)

Until that happens, I'm just trying to share how it actually works, ya know, for now. ;)

Yeah, I've heard how it works and it $ucks. I am paying for pizza.
I usually tip 15% or $2 on a $12-$15 pizza.

I don't believe in tipping anyone. Waitresses and waiters typically give horrid service, so I give them $0.01, but only when I pay with credit card, because then the manager KNOWS they gave horrid service. I don't think that as a society, the customer pays a certain amount of a persons salary. The business establishment should pay it. I mean, if you order a lawn service, do you pay them tips?

I would ONLY tip a pizza delivery person if a) he wasn't a dick, b) he was a she, c) she came topless, d) she was on time or even early, and e) if she rode on a bicycle or walked it over.

You should always tip the driver either a $1 if its late or what ever you feel like if it there early or right on time, vast majority of the time if its late its not the drivers fault plus the driver is doing you a service so you dont have to get off your lazy fat a$$ to go get it.

Most driver get paid min wage plus .50 cents to $1 per delivery and when I mean delivery thats if they take 1 order or 4 orders they get paid just that .50 to $1 not for every order that goes with them.

Oh and most of those delivery charges are a box charge and Ins charge, the Ins charge is for the driver just incase the driver does something really stupid, it protects the owner.

A dollar minimum, usually a max of 3 bucks, depending on how the change works out.

My normal pay is round the price up and add on $2. More for a huge party order. Unless they take forever or screw up the order, then they're lucky if they get one.

I am a delivery driver also. Hours have been really slow here as of lately...although I do live in a hick town that has 3 McDonalds in it....

Anyways, I always tip to the next $5 denomination..unless the guy is an @ss. But when I deliver I am happy to get a dollar out of any of these rednecks. The best I have gotten is $8 from a broke down house. It caught me off guard! My friend made $15 tip on one on a $40 order.

I think there should be a mandated 15% just like restaruant workers get! I mean..I do the same, if not more, than they do. Oh well..I am getting a different job soon.

You've obviously never worked a job that involved tipping.

Did you know that managers and whatnot really don't evaluate employee performance via tips? Managers could care less, at least according to my old pizza job. Your one cent most likely does nothing but make you look like a jackass who needs to give meager tips to try and prove a point he's not even making so he can beat the system and feel good about himself. :)

Oh well. There's always one or two people like you every night in a pizza delvierer's job, and it really doesn't hurt anyone's feelings. It just makes you look like a dick and it increases the chances of foreign objects being included in your pizza with subsequent deliveries. ;)

it depends on who orders the pizza around here.. or who comes up with the money. my husband is a 10% to the nearest dollar (whichever way is nearest) for delivery kinda guy.. I'm more a 15% and round up to the next dollar kind of gal. since we order 1 to 8 pizzas at a time depending on who's here (I sometimes think I run a halfway house for hungry teenagers), I can't pick a dollar amount.. but usually I order/pay, so.. so far, the delivery guys have not refused to come to my house.

there was one time.. in.. '89, I think.. my husband was in california and I was home in virginia with 2 and 5yo children (or 1 and 4yo ones, if it was 88.. was one or the other) and i had promised them pizza for dinner all day and then extreme weather happened.. god stomped on reston and trees were down all over the place, on top of cars in our parking lot and across streets getting to us and the power was out.. I called domino's and they delivered, took 'bout an hour but the guy had had to walk 4 blocks to get to us.. and he's like.. took more than 30 minutes, you get 3.00 off.. that guy got a 27.00 tip. woulda been more but that's all the cash I had. 2 and 5yo children that have been promised pizza do not understand weather.. and wasn't much I could have substituted, with no electricity..and.. no electricity meant no TV... rofl. that pizza probably saved someone's life!

it all depends. but generally 2-4 bucks, depending on what i bought.

i am a very erratic tipper, in resteraunts. im very easy to please, but if people dont meet a minimum of service, they arent getting a cent. generally, i'll tip 15%. if they're really really good, i'll tip 25-30% i've tipped 40% once, but... it was a special case. :p
