Here's a kicker. You can buy a 1 year warranty for $20 from him. BUT, squaretrade apparently is offering me a 3 year warranty for only $9. I'm going for that for sure if I keep the item. Anyone ever use that squaretrade "care plan service"?

My dad went to China over the summer and got 2 "8GB" Nano knock-offs for $20 each.

They only held 128MB. My little brother uses one of them, because he's 9 and doesn't know the difference. We gave the other one to my cousin, but I think it broke after a few weeks. Plus, it's easier for him to burn a cd full of songs and listen to that.

EDIT: The ones at pigpony, that Garth and AMDZen mentioned are the ones that my dad got.

Ya, I going to test the 4GB capacity right when I get it. I'm pretty sure either a) it will be 4GB or b) if it is not he's going to catch a lot of hell and I'll try to shut him out of ebay for false advertising....at which point he'll return my money and let me keep the item anyway.

heh yea i heard of flash drives that misreport their memory size😉 lots of cheap generic flash stuff is like that, beware.

Yeah.. the ones my dad got from China said they were 8GB in explorer, but after re-formatting them, they went down to 128MB.

how bad can it be for $50?

pretty bad when u can get a good decent player with that amount of memory as regular price. well the real amount of memory😉

when you first get it, make sure the screen works and fill it completly. Normally the flash memory is the part they get cheap about.
