maybe i'm just wrong here, but isn't 1 Gb = 128 MB?

Hrmm could be a clever ploy by the bootleggers to avoid legal action. Is it listed in the auction as "GB" or "Gb"...

read this guy's negative feedback. he's definitely a dishonest seller. he was originally selling those knockoffs as real ipod nanos.

It's not an Ipod at all. It's a cheap Chinese knock-off by chinese companies that don't respect patents.

It is listed as GB. And he apparently used to sell them as real ipod nanos but then added the "generic" in there. I could be getting shafted here but i won't go away without a major fight on this one.

Thanks professor. I think it was clear from the OP that he knows he's not getting a real iPod, he's getting a knock-off.

False advertisment FTW. I'm sure Apple would like to see that's auction for the "4G Nano"

Yes, as mugs stated, I know it's not an official Apple Ipod, but I'm not concerned about name brand. Best case sceario, it looks similar to a Nano and I can drag and drop MP3, vids, pics, etc and it is in fact 4GB. Worst case scerario it's a 128MB wafer o junk.

You can't get 4 GB of memory for anywhere near that price. I'm sure the cheapest wholesale you could find 4 GBs of flash would be ~$120.

That was my question when I read the title. How do you have a "generic" nano? Does it still have apple written on it, or is it one of those that I saw on ebay a while ago where instead of a wheel, it had 4 cheapo buttons?

YES!!! See that's what I'm telling you. Sure they are out there and $50 seems like a steal. But I won it on an auction. So it is possible it is worth more than $50, that's the beauty of being patient on EBAY. Most of them go for $60 or more plus shipping, so like $75. I will report back once I receive this unit.

Well consider that the spot price for 8Gb NAND flash is $15 give or take. So to make a 4 GB player, you need to put in $60 or so of flash memory; I'll let you draw your own conclusion as to what you'll be getting.
