It's the 4th day of the month... so not very much.

More than I deserve!

Revisiting this thread, one of my "account"... Keep in mind the color we want to see is GREEN, with a plus sign in front of the numbers.

I had no idea that happened, my cat must have ran across my keyboard whilst I wasn't watching, and I don't even have a cat. That's even less than tree fiddy!

About 1k. At first when I bought this house I found it scary to see a balance under 15k, in fact it's had under 100 at one point... but now I'm used to it. I try to keep at least 1k in it at all times though. Never know when some emergency might happen like the furnace breaking down, or car etc... Once I'm done paying my loan I'll let it build up to at least 5k to keep as emergency cash for in case I loose my job or something.

How old are you? $29K is not that much, sorry to say... Also, are you trying to tell me that if a kid has a joint checking account with one of their parents because they can't legally hold an account b/c they're a minor, that the money isn't theirs? I'm calling bullshit...

I've been out of college for less than 2 years, have a decent 401k started, and the only debt I've got is a $5k student loan and my mortgage. Between getting lucky on finding a decent foreclosure, the amount I was able to put down, and good interest rates my mortgage/taxes/insurance is $300 a month less than a decent apartment in my area. I think I'm doing just fine, thanks.

And yes, I don't really count what kids living at home have in their parent's joint account. There's a difference between someone out on their own having to support themselves and a person living at home with their parents paying the majority of their living expenses. If I didn't have to pay rent, utilities or food I would have a ridiculous amount more money in my bank account.
