check this out....you can get alot of house for a great price in the country club we live in....

www.lakekiowa.com, look at what's on the market, i guarantee you'll be surprised, and it's on a nice lake, with a golf course, driving range, putting greens, two clean lake beaches, everything you'd want.... the monthly dues are kind of high ~$350/month, but it's well worth it

It lets you customize a lot of parameters if you click on the advanced tab. According to this, buying a house for me will always be a losing proposition from a purely financial perspective. That said, I realize buying a house is not based purely on maximizing net worth.
