Maybe I should move to the US, I should be able to get a pretty decent house there for half the cost of my current house :D

I just looked at the offering for St. Louis; that's in a fairly uh, low-rent area. It wouldn't be terrible for a single person, but I wouldn't raise kids there.

It's also not very conveniently located for jobs not related to industry.

LoL @ this quote "This home is in San Diego?s City Heights neighborhood. "City Heights is for first-time home buyers, and it's an old neighborhood; it's kind of in the heart of San Diego," says Martha McCarthy, of Century 21 Award. "It's not too bad of a neighborhood." The stucco home has a fireplace and some wood floors. Of the area's real-estate market, McCarthy says: "It's kind of soft. It's kind of still dropping. Buyers would like to see it drop another $25,000 if they can," she says of this home's price."

This is NOT the place for first time home buyers unless you want to get robbed, mugged and beaten every night fot the rest of your life.

LOLOLOL dumbass realtor saying anything to get a sale.:disgust:

Nothing here in Santa Barbara I'm sure. Maybe a trailer. Sometimes I really wonder about living here since I will most likely have to rent the rest of my life if I do. But damn it is so fricken nice.

That's why I like Raleigh. You can get a nice house for a good price and you don't have to live in Boonieville USA. Not that living in Boonieville USA is necessarily bad, but there aren't many IT jobs in Boonieville, I looked.

There are more jobs to be had in my area then there was back up in the Hammond IN/Chicago IL area. If I was not disabled I could have a job in a hour. And because everything is so cheap, I could live like a king even if I was to just make $11 an hour.

Taxes on my home is $650 a year, and if I didnt live within city limits would be $250.

You also got to factor in that because it is the "back woods", it means NO TRAFFIC. 35 minutes on a open road gets you about 45 miles away, without being pissed off because you were cut off, sucking on semi fumes, paying $3 at each toll, 4 times each day, one way.

Better MPG too because your not:
Start stop start stop, honk honk honk, YOU MOTHER FUCKER!@!!@@~!! Im going to rip out your god damn kidneys through your belly button and fed it to your child who is NOT in a child seat, you cock sucking HOOOOOOONK HOOOOOOONK middle finger, UP YOURS! LET ME THE FUCK IN DAMNIT! HOOOOOOOONK HOOOOOONK, SHIT I need to get to work, I been sitting at this toll for 30 minutes, WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!! NO NO NO NONO, What the hell is this shit????? A damn Accident, NO NO NOOOOOOO NOT today I got a damn report due this morning. OH IM so glad I left for work at 4am to get there by 9am and its now 10:30 with 2 miles, or 40 minutes left to go. Get the hell out of my way. OH NO YOU DIDNT! OH Im going to KILL Someone if they dont let me though. OH SHIT, another toll, Damn that semi stinks, and I got no way of getting around it.

I had to leave my home at 4:30 am, just so I could get far enough out of the North side of Chicago before rush hour hit, or else I would literally be stuck in traffic to go 50 miles for 4 hours, coming out of Hammond In to get to WI. I DONT miss it AT ALL!

Best move I ever did for me and my family was get the fuck out of the city. the quality of life where Im at now is unmeasurable.

Only thing "high", besides me, here may consider the sales tax, but everything else is so damn low, it doesnt matter.

And we got your stores, compusa, petsmart, best buy, fancy eating joints, its all here, 35-40 minute drive away. I used to spend longer then that to go 5 miles in traffic back in Indiana.

But to see what jobs can be had, just go to carrerbuilder.com, put in zip 38330, and a 50 mile radius. You will see that anyone, no matter their skills, or lack of, can find a job here with ease.

You can get a WHOLE lotta house for $220k around here. An average 4/2 10yr old home 2000sq ft usually goes for around the $130k range. For that price I would say you could get a 5/3 4000sq ft without a problem.

that pretty much sums it up perfectly
my drive to work is about 50 miles, takes 35-40min normally
we got 8 inches of snow last night, took me 45 min today,
its 100% highway, i could do it in my sleep

Ouch... housing prices are low in Sioux Falls, SD.

My wife and I live in a 2006 4 bed, 2 bath, 1750 sq ft house with a triple car garage and .33 acre lot valued at about ~$156,000.

This isn't bad either.

As a bonus it's a great neighborhood and school district.

Now that I'm actually in the market to buy a home and can see what the prices are like here, my jaw dropped to the floor at seeing how much farther the dollar goes in other parts of the country. 1400 sq ft townhouses built in the mid 80's are going for 280K in central NJ

Well theres your problem
