how much have you spent at Amazon this year?

No Lifer
last december i got amazon prime so i could do christmas shopping online and get the free 2 day shipping. since then i find myself ordering A LOT more stuff from amazon than i previously did. just this week i ordered 3 different orders, starting on monday.

ordered some weed killer and sprayer, then a hedge trimmer and extension cord, then today a fish finder.

had a package arrive yesterday, one will come today, and fish finder either tomorrow or friday.

so i just checked my order history for this year and so far i've placed 33 orders for a total of $1524. just curious how much others have spent on amazon this year. to be honest, i thought it was more total $$ prior to checking the report, since i know i have made many orders.

it would also be $900 more for the preorder of ps4 and xbox1, but those don't ship till the end of the year.

EDIT:

to get totals, go to "your account" and click on "download order reports" and it will generate reports based on the dates entered. and then a simple excel sum formula will add up the column.

Strictly this year (2013), I'd say about $5k. Over the past year (Jul 2012-present) easily $10k. I usually order from Amazon a couple times a week.

Is there a way to see my total spent? I see that it says I've placed XX number of orders in 2013, but hell if I'm going to add up each order total.

$1900 YTD. I'll probably be pre-ordering a couple of books soon.

About ~$300 was me abusing free shipping for my roommate.

But about half of it is groceries.

One order, 2037 euros at amazon.fr, none at amazon.de and amazon.co.uk
Each of which btw maintain their own order history.
Bloody hell, why is amazon.eu a gateway instead of a unification of all these different sites. The account (login, payment) is synched across all three sites, after all.

So do you want a Medal or some kind of trophy?

My guess would be taxes.

2013: 58 items (in 53 orders) so far for $4,444.95.
2012: 156 items (in 118 orders) for $5,443.52.

I ordered several thousand dollars of stuff from Newegg in the last couple of months of 2012 and first couple of months of 2013 because they were significantly cheaper than Amazon. If not for that, my totals would be even higher. I'm going to crush last year's dollar total. I intend to buy a new camera in the fall from Amazon and that will be around $1500 with accessories.

EDIT: I am not seeing items from the Kindle store on the list either, so add a couple hundred dollars. 🙂

I don't know about this year yet, but I average around $25,000-$30,000 a year on personal purchases from Amazon.

As I've gotten older, I don't waste as much money buying junk online as I used to. (used to buy stuff whether I needed it or not)

Now, the few things I get from Amazon are the S&S deal on 8 O'Clock 33oz bags and occasional fabric softener. Otherwise, I buy CDs on there and other stuff that I don't feel like paying tax on or searching locally for a lower price.

Neat little trick, my AmEx card gives me 6% cash back on grocery store purchases (but only 1% on Amazon). So just before I make a large purchase, I go to the grocery store and buy an Amazon gift card for roughly the amount I'm going to spend. They have custom value cards that you can load up in any amount.

Got a $170 gift card last night, for $10.20 cash back.

If you spend $1500 on Amazon each year and pay for ALL of it with gift cards using this trick, assuming you don't carry a balance and have to pay interest, you'd save $90. EDIT: Actually it would be $75, since if you don't use gift cards bought from grocery stores you still get 1% cash back, or $15. So the net savings is $75.
