How much do you tip for a haircut?

it depends on how well it was done.

the last time i got my hair cut the girl made it really cute and i loved it. (basically i told her to do whatever she wanted..and she chopped it all off!) it was at a beauty school so it was only $6, and i tipped her $5. good tip if you go by the price, but i wouldve given her more if i had the cash.
 
I get my hair cut at a barbershop, and it costs $15.00. I usually hand him a $20 and ask for $2 back. So, a $3 tip.
 
i usually tip $2~$3, but the lady at the last place was nice enough to offer us special student discount. she said she didnt need any tips either 😀

no i did offer her tips but she refused... thats her way to be genuinely nice, was i supposed to tip her anyway?
 
WTF? You are supposed to tip? I've been going to the same lady for maybe 18 years now and never tipped nor has she ever hinted at it. Hmmm.

i tip $3... hair cut is ~$15. it's killin me tho... I cut my hair myself for 3 months... took too much time 😛 Ideally, i'd have to go in every two weeks... but i don't of course cause then i'd be broker than i am.
 
Where are you people getting haircuts for $6? Christ, I pay $20 for a cut, $40 if I do color. And I always leave a $5 tip.
 
Most places around here charge $8-$9. I give them a $10 bill. The remaining places charge $40-$50 for the same cut. I don't see why anyone pays that much, but I guess they can if they want to.

Usually my wife cuts my hair though.
 
I go to a barber shop and get a $10 dollar cut and give $1 tip if I have it. Didn't know we had so many Metros on this board paying for $50 cuts . 🙂
