Psh who needs to weight lift. Running is where its at. The only thing you need more muscles for is for lifting more. Running at least makes you more healthy overall :D
Gymnastics is where it's at. They interviewed one of the US Olympians and he said that they get that muscular just because they lift their own body weight so often while doing the gymnastics. That's healthy, they look awesome, and they can do crazy stunts. That's where it's at.
You like boys, don't you?

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I honestly don't believe how weak you guys are. It is absurd for anyone over 16 not to be able to bench at least 100lbs.

Are you talking about multiple reps? Because I never work out and for one rep I did around 105% of my body weight.

When I go to the bar, I don't want to be a skinny little b!tch, I'll give em the gun show. I run also for cardio.

You should be able to do around 135 unless you have never lifted anything in your entire life.

It's probably because I'm so light. I must've lost weight, they weighed me at 125 today.

I won't be doing any reps at all, we'll be looking for a SINGLE REP max amount. I haven't touched a bench press since 8th grade. And I don't work out. And I'm lean.

Okay I'm ready to be laughed at tomorrow. What will I be doing, 40 maybe?

I had the same situation when I started working out about two months ago - 6' ~140lb..max'd out at 135. I just did 160 yesterday. :)

short arms definitely help powerlifters in the bench press.
plus, they usually decrease the distance they have to push the
bar by arching their back (or having a huge abdomen).

It's probably because I'm so light. I must've lost weight, they weighed me at 125 today

the ratio of weight bench pressed to body weight tends to decrease
as body weight increases. IOW, lighter lifters tend to
bench press more as a percentage of their body weight.

Should being the key word, you have to work up to that point if you haven't worked out for a long period of time or at all.

I recommend that the smaller guys start supplementing. It helped me put on 10lbs in 2 weeks doing 5 1 hour workout sessions.

Creatine Monohydrate Powder-take 1g/10lbs body weight for first week and 1g/30lbs body weight thereafter
Whey Protein Powder-mix about 30g with milk or juice and take 2-3 times a day
Multivitamin-Take a good MV daily and think about taking some fish oil with it.

thats the worst advice ive heard in a long time. is that 1g/10 lbs a day, or a week. just follow instructions

most creatines now you dont have to load for the first week. go to a supplement info forum if you want help on supplements. www.bodybuildingforyou.com

I took a 18 week course on the science behind supplements. I also tested the theories first hand.

My first week was 15g a day, and 5g a day afterwards. Creatine didn't magically change over the past 5 years.

5'11" 115lbs -> 5'11" 124lbs

Yeah, still way underweight and my metabolism is as rapid as ever.

my god! are you related to Reggie Miller?

Dunno who that is. Ive always been far underweight. For the past 8 years, Ive been eating 6 meals each day for a total of around 4500 calories.

I'm with you in that boat dude. The most I've ever weighed was 130lbs for about a week when I was married. If I don't eat/exercise I'll lose up to 5lbs a week. F'ing blows when I get the flu or whatever. I'm at 120 right now myself, and that's eating 3 solid meals, 3 'meal replacement' shakes (Myoplex or equivalent), and any number of snacks/health bars.

Used to do max 225, but now I shrunk a lot.

Last year of college was around 195

Now it would be much less.
