Agreed. My wife is very thrifty and saves money very well, but she didn't have much of a credit history otherwise, so my credit history is quite a bit better.

2) About $103,000 left on the mortgage. Always put 20% down if possible to avoid PMI Vehicles are paid for as well as schooling. You don't have to sacrifice everything to retire well, but you should certainly plan for the lifestyle you want to live once you get to retirement age ASAP.
