I don't actually know how to borrow real money... I'll probably have to figure out when I start getting ready to apply to grad school. heh. :(

I paid cash for my car and borrowed the money from my parents for my undergrad education.

Is borrowed a nice way to say that they paid for it? Did you pay them back?

1) ZERO. Parents pay for credit cards, plus they receive my statements, and they give me the OK. Pretty much it's just food and stuff that goes on the CC. Any gifts or my stuff I pay on my own, but if it's food, groceries, stuff I need for college, they pay.

2) Uhhh. not old enough? har. But yes I will be paying my parents back big time once I get a real job after graduating.

Must be hard having to pay for those gifts. How do you manage?

1) Zero

2) Zero for now but will go up within 5 years. I am planning to buy a nice house <saving up the money for a large down payment and 15 years mortgate>. A decent house with 2,000 sq. foot will be around 200K down here <Southern state>.

BTW, I went to college for my BS and MBA on my own. Not on mom and dad money.

38k revolving
199k overall

27 months ago, the numbers would have been 3 / 3. Add wife (w/ no savings, then lost job), mortgage, baby, 6mo medical leave in the last 9 mo. I bet there's nearly 30k in medical, groceries, gasoline on those cards... Did I mention annual income is down $15k in that time frame? I would kill (literally, pm me ;)) to get out of this debt load....

CC: ~$1300 (mostly from my spanking new T42), I've been paying off CC bill 100%, so it's not exactly debt.

Overall: $0, but I owe my parents a yet-to-receive BS in Comp Sci. HOPE scholarship + PELL grant FTW + $100/mo parents FTW

I hate debts and I hate loaning money. I'm planning to save most of my paycheck from part-time gig I got recently for a new/used car to replace my beater 90' Camery (handed down by parents). I'm gonna be saving up the paycheck @ HSBC savings, and hopefully have ~ $10k by end of this year. When I told my parents about HSBC's 4.25% rate, they thought I got scammed. It wasn't surprising, since they only get 3.5% on their crappy 6mo, 1yr CDs.
