The Bible was written by mankind. Jesus was a man. Jesus was not God, or the son of God. You have all been duped by a 2000 year old myth.
:cookie:

I can only assume that you're as right about this as you were about the elections. Go take your drama-queen act somewhere else.

Have you no shame cyclowizard. That post was not a troll. You simply don't have a response to it. Just fess up.

LOL. Like I told you via PM, you can't convince a troll that they are a troll.

In all honestly the whole lot of you are acting like a bunch of babies. "Ooooh he said something I don't like...let's all call him a troll and constantly bash him".

Grow up all of you. People need to respect each other more on these forums than this. I can't believe this has de-generated into this immature nonsense that reminds me of kindergarten.

And to think, we have a President who believes in Armageddon:Q

Teh apocalypse.

I still don't know the point RD is trying to make.

I'm not sure. Some think that he's piling up the debt because the world is gonna blow up soon anyways.

I'm guessing it has something to do with born agains and evangelicals being borderline crazy... that would be my guess based on his posts.

My post was, in a nutshell, meant to provoke some meaningful discussion on the origins of Christianity and to understand the rational of Christians in America.

I went to a Catholic highschool for four years, read my share of the Bible, and have still come to the same conclusions. In fact, before I went to highscool I believed that Jesus might actually be the Son of God.

What it comes down to is that the religious right canont prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus was or is the Son of God, or that Christianity is the one true religion, or that God even exists. You believe these things because you have FAITH that they are true, not because they are true. You cannot use the Bible as your proof, that is a cyclical argument since you cannot prove the Bible was written by God.
You answered your own argument: faith is the only answer to this entire series of questions. The question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you believe in a higher being and what his role is in your existence, if any. The details are not necessarily important in this scope and can be sorted out later.

RD, don't accuse me again of being bigoted or close-minded. You've forfeited your authority to do so.
No I haven't. You are a fan of Michael Savage do you definately are close minded and a Bigot!

You have no idea what my actual opinion of Savage is or how closely I agree with him.

ok, i'll bite. what is your opinion of him, then?

I mostly agree with these, taken from his website:

1. Support Traditional Marriage
2. Close the Borders now.
3. Deport all illegal immigrants now.
4. Eliminate bilingual education in all states.
5. Require health tests for all recent foreign born immigrants.
6. Make tax cuts permanent.
7. End Affirmative Action
8. Tort Reform - Stop Class Action Lawyers.

i'm surprised. i've listened to his radio program
a few times & found his views totally incompatible
with Christianity as i understand it.

I usually disagree with him when he brings up his personal views on religion. But what do you see as incompatible with Christianity?

Probably nothing.

If you close the borders to immigration, will the US population sustain itself though?

And class action lawsuits...what's the problem here? If 100,000 buy a car that is defective, should they not be compensated? Or should they each sue individually and tie up the government-funded legal system?

Health tests for immigrants? I thought he said to "close the borders". Where will the money for health tests come from?

Permanent tax cuts? Ok sure that sounds great in theory, but what about times of war?

I can't see the elimination of bilingual education going very well. You would end up with thousands of Hispanic dropouts living off the system.

I guess I've rebutted most of his points. They sound great when you first read them, but upon further evaluation they are illogical and in many ways maniacal.
