ugh... as a construction worker its hard to read that. 8-12 hours a day and there is not a single hour youre not 'actually working'. it never ends and rarely slows down. 40 hours a week usually.

but im out of that business! i now too have an 'office' job! most of my time will be troubleshooting broken electronics... this is going to be like vacationing with pay. now its still 40 hours a week, but 9-5pm and not 6-2pm like i normally did. HUGE difference! and i wont sweat! i dont have to go to bed until midnight now! so sweet.

I am at work 50 hours a week every week. It rarely more than that, but it's never less. I can only get time off if I'm willing to close the store while I'm doing it, which I'm not. The only time I'm not actually working is the minutes it takes me to post on ATOT once every day or so. I guess if you add it up I'm not working at work for maybe an hour a week. I don't eat lunch at work either.

Roughly 70 hours. I'm actually doing a lot better now. I take weekends off to enjoy doing things I like doing with friends.

bit opposite here, we pretty much do what we want so long as we do enough work that we feel is good enough for the time sheet. benefits of a small company. the biggest no no is getting caught with no hardhats or vests or being late for work, heavily frowned upon there.
hours vary, 40hrs to 70, can also vary on emergency call outs.

I try not to work over 50 per week and usually 42.5, including lunches, at work. I do work more than that but I use VM's at home and pull the work into them and work here. Email back the results to start the next day. Transit time = 12 to 15 minutes each way or so.

I would rather spend time at home working than more time at the shop.

8-5ish every day, so about 45 give or take a bit. Almost never more than 47. The buildings get locked up around 5:30pm, so no real need to bother working past that and only needed to do that once in 9 months.

for those at work 55+ hours a week: do you get burned out?

I've been working 50 hours/week since the first week of July. Figure in lunches and that's 60 hours. I am working 96.5% of the time according to tracking BTW....
