for those at work 55+ hours a week: do you get burned out?

I've been working 50 hours/week since the first week of July. Figure in lunches and that's 60 hours. I am working 96.5% of the time according to tracking BTW....

Not really. I have learned over the years to pace myself. As Peter from Office Space said, if I bust ass and the company ships a few more units I don't see another dime.

Average is 40 hours, but it's more accurate to say 160 hours per 4 weeks. I work shifts so I can have one week where I work 30 hours and the next week I work 60 but it always adds up to 160 per 4 week schedule.

Personally I prefer working the 12 hour shifts since I end up with more days off. Weekend or night shifts I have to stay in the building since I'm the only person there, so it's 12 hours straight.

The rough ones are where you work ~46 hours a week, but have ~40 hours compressed into the first 3 days.

Lately been going in between 5 and 6 am and usually get home about 8PM and Im working Saturdays. I do get down time in the afternoon if I have appointments on the road.

This is short term till I get staffed properly but I cant find the right person to do what I do lately.

50. working more than 40-45 is not something to be proud of IMO.
Don't spend your life at work if at all possible

Yeah I don't know how the ones who do it all the time manage. 40 is really as high as I'd want to go. At least in my case it's spread out in a way so I get more time off too. I could not imagine working 12 hour shifts non stop every day like some people do. My dad works so many hours (salesman) I don't know how he does it. I need time to myself.

This is what I hated about school, I barely had any time for myself because I had to dedicated to school. If I was not at school, I was at home doing homework for school. So glad that part of life is done and over with.

Unemployed bum.

School takes up 10 hours a week in class, and 30 hours at home studying or whatever.

36 or 48 depending on the week. Work alternating 3 or 4 day weeks with 12 hour shifts.

I arrived at school today at 6:36. I usually arrive some time between 6:30 and 7:00. By contract, I don't have to be here until 8:00.

The time I leave varies so much that unless I logged it, it would be difficult to figure out the exact average. Looking at last week, there was one night when I left for 30 minutes to go out and get dinner; I was here until 8:30pm (so, 13 1/2 hours), and another day when I left from 5:30pm until 7pm, and was back here until 10, another 13 1/2 hour day. The other days, I left some time between 4 and 5, or just after 5; so about 10 hours each day.

The week before was homecoming week, so I was here even more; chaperoning the dance, attending several sporting events (we don't get paid to do so, but our new evaluation system mandates that we attend a lot of school events, else get dinged pretty badly.)

Bow season is coming up, so hopefully by then I'm prepared enough for those weeks that I can get right out the door at 3:15.

40 hours including my 30-minute lunch breaks
M - F, 7 AM - 3 PM

I really like the hours. I get up at 6:00, and I'm home at about 3:40 (30-mile, one-way commute).

Depends. Right now I'm working from home to study for certs. My day starts at 9am and ends by 5pm.

When I work at a client's location my hours could be anything.

With my new job, 40 to 45 max. I then do contract work at night for my old company when I have free time... About another 8 hours a week.
