How many computers do you have?

techs

Lifer
These days I have 5 computers. Two on my desk switched between one monitor. One laptop. Two in my computer shop.
I am thinking of adding a Server 2003 or Server 2008 machine in my apartment to manage them. Or maybe a HTPC....
Can you be too rich, too thin or have too many computers?......

i used to have 6 and then finally realized 2 is all i need. why does anyone need more than 2 unless it's for some sort of shop?
one laptop and one desktop. done.

I've cut down to 3 recently, had too many machines not doing anything, so I consolidated and cleaned out the home office.

qft

desktop and laptop here. works great

I too used to have several machines running all the time but have now cut it down to 1 desktop and 2 laptops between my fiancee and I.

Just 2. New desktop (Q6600) and old laptop (P3 900Mhz).

The next thing I might look into is a small linux box that would serve as NAS/svn and misc services. I don't like to have my main computer on overnight and the laptop I use too often to use as a server.

Correction - one laptop, desktop and an iphone!!!

2 desktops here, that i own personally.

also, another fully functional (but not active) desktop just sitting around.

currently active machines are a media server, gaming pc, and tablet pc. PC's that are fully working and are fairly current are 2 other desktops and a second laptop.

I was running 3 desktops and up to 2 laptops at the same time, but then I realized there was no real point in it and have since dropped to a server, desktop for use, and my tablet.

I was thinking of adding a server, but I'll buy a NAS enclosure and turn one of my spare hard disk into a NAS device. Less power consumption!

1 Fit-PC used as a Linux router, 2 laptops, 1 HTPC, 1 VMWare Server, 1 File server (going away soon), 1 PC in my son's room, 8 computers I got for free from work ranging from Celeron 1.2Ghz to P4 2.26Ghz, and one old PIII 650MHz system that used to be my Linux router.

16 total

The 8 I got from work I'll be selling or giving away.
