Slightly off-topic - do you know anyone who works for themselves (or started their own company) who doesn't have long days?

One of my best friends runs a money management firm (it's like a smaller hedge fund). He works properly 4 hours out of the day and spends the rest doing whatever he wants.

Generally though, I'd say no. Most business owners I know spend significantly more time with their businesses than do most people with "normal" jobs.
 
<<Contractor, so I work all over... anywhere from a 45 minute drive to 2+ hours... one way.

Edit (forgot the second part) : Driving sucks... but you kinda get used to it after a while, make sure you have satelite radio or something, carpooling and having someone to talk to helps a shit-ton.
 
30-40 minutes door to door depending on how the trains run.

Not to bad since I pass a lot of handy stuff on the way to and from (bank, drugstore, coffee shops, ect..). Next place I think I'll move closer to the station though.
