When I was young and dumb I got a $300 card from a jewlery store, I bought a watch and never paid a dime on it.

They bugged me for 7 years and I never paid them...it must have switched creditors 5 times in all that time.

Roll the clock forward another 7 years and I have good credit now , several credit cards and I hold a job...I am not wealthy or anything and really I am in debt more than I should be but I am working on that.

Today I got a letter saying I owed these people $1150 some odd dollars...good god man! Its been 14 fricking years , can they still legally bother me for money? How in the hell did they track me down, I must have moved a half dozen times in 14 years!!

Im gonna be 80 and still getting letters from these guys....I not gonna go out like that!

You owe them money, you need to pay them. Just wishing it away is not going to work.

Well, did you expect them to just ask for the $300 that you owed? Pay the bill.

It does not matter how many times the account gets sold. It's still a debt that is owed. If you purchase a home, your mortgage could get sold off several different times to other lenders. Does this mean you should not pay your mortgage either?

Nope I aint gonna pay because its a greddy creditor that probably paid $2 for the account NOT the original company. I though you guys knew better.

WTF? What does his religion have anything to do with what you are doing. You owe people money, now you refuse to pay because of some BS reason that you managed to convince yourself of. Why do you even bother with the other debt you have currently. They're just greedy creditors anwyays

It has been answered already. However, those of us in this forum with common sense are not going to provide the answer you are looking for.

I'm sure they paid a lot more than that for it, but it would have never gotten that far if you had been responsible and paid the bill in the first place. You ARE what is wrong with society today, because you incurred a debt and feel no obligation to repay it.

Then, in seven more years, he'll start another thread where the debt has increased to $2,900 because of non-payment.
