How long before there is a backlash against muslims in Europe?

I've never understood the propensity of many of the progressive/left people and politicians rushing to defending and play apologist for a reactionary, conservative to the point of being Medieval, misogynistic, homophobic religion and the often violent culture it spawned. Islam the antithesis of everything a liberal Western democracy holds dear. Yes, yes, not all Muslims are of that bent. Whatever.

Well, another poster here put it best:

Conservatives are vehemently against generalization when it concerns themselves. But it's entirely ok to generalize "most Mexicans" or "most Muslims" as criminals/rapists/terrorists?

Whatever indeed... Selective indignation is very selective...

Because we understand that not all of them are like that? Is this all that confusing for you to understand?

I wasn't the one decrying generalizations as evil.

I was merely pointing out your hypocrisy

(also, there's the minor point that your generalization was completely false while mine was based on fact)

Not all, but too many. 25% of them think targeting civilians in terror attacks can be justified.

I see no reason to allow such a group in the country

Trying to scapegoat Muslims is;

1) Wrong
2) Useless

1) is self-evident. As to 2), how are you going to determine who is Muslim, once you create an environment where Muslims do not feel free to live their lives as Muslims and decide to act non-Muslim (whatever that might be)? Spanish Inquisition?

So is it fair to assume that you think that countries like Lebanon should be on your list? How about Jordan? I am genuinely curious what countries SHOULD be on this list...

EDIT: I have to get to sleep EST and have to get up early. Will check back in the morning...

how so?

You are conflating 2 separate issues.
1. How we treat Muslims that are in country
2. Letting more Muslims in

You are absolutely correct that we need to be 'welcoming' and 'inclusive' and whatever other buzzword you want to throw out for Muslims that are already here.

However there's absolutely no reason to let in more

Trump came out and stated plainly that he wanted to take out the families of terrorists.

Did his supporters bat an eye at that notion? And how many are their numbers...

He said he didn't mean 'kill'

what did he mean? who knows, but he's plainly said he does not support killing the families of terrorists, so, whatever
