QWERTY or DVORAK?

How old are you? When did you touch your first keyboard..

1) QWERTY, never learned DVORAK

2) 26, almost 27 :( :brokenheart:

3) I started to learn how to type when I was ~10 - 11 using VTECH's "Type-Right" machine if anybody remembers that... It was the bestest thing EVAR.

Thank god. I still have time.

Do you remember when you were stuck in the 120s? Or did you not get stuck until 140s/150s? If so, how long were you stuck at that point?

Yea, I'd like to know that too. I usually type around 90, but test around 120's.

Gross Speed 125WPM
Errors 0 Words
Net Speed 125WPM
Accuracy 100%

Nice, thanks for making me feel younger. :p

I'm not sure if there was really a time where I got "stuck..." I do remember being quite frustrated with my left hand for not being able to pick up fingers as fast as my right hand, but I think you just need to practice that.

Honestly, I think TyperA (mentioned in one of my posts above..) will help you type better. It really forced me to focus and practice repetitive movements, and getting 160 wpm there is much more difficult than it is to get it on typingtest.com. And it's more fun! I think Sheepathon and I are still on the high score list there.

I also remember there being a time where I tried to type every word I saw mentally, and then I reminded myself how nerdy that was, so I stopped. :p

^agreed

Typera spits out random sentences at you, unlike the one linked in the OP that takes you to the same paragraph every time. The sentences are clever, too :)
Getting a high wpm/kpm score is much more challenging.

My ex could type at 138wpm, and she's a comp n00b.
I could only type at 99WPM in comparison.
