Find the furthest point in any direction away from my current family in NYC.

I'd go there if I could live comfortably. Doesn't need to be anything near $100k, which would be a pay cut for me anyway.

I would not move houses, I would only move jobs if it shortened my 20 mile commute significantly.

I would move all the way around the world.

Wait....that puts me right here?

Distance has nothing to do with it at all, I would move to destinations super far away as long as it was some place I wanted to live. I would love to move to B.C. and if I had a job offer for somewhere appealing there, for $100K, my condo would be on the market tomorrow.

Right now--while I'm still young--I'd move pretty far. PNW? Done. California? Yep. Wouldn't even really be opposed to moving internationally for that.

I wouldn't move for that. It would be a raise, but not enough to justify moving.

Would be a tough call. Depends on the job itself, and how much housing there would cost. I rather keep my 60k job that I love and that has zero stress than a 100k job that is most likely some kind of high end exec position with lot of stress and management tends to have less job security as well.

8 hours would probably be the very most I'd move and it better be a damn good job and housing and living cost would have to be the same or less than where I am now otherwise what's the point.

Also would depend on the commute. 100k jobs are often in big cities, that means longer commute, so that on it's own would be a deal breaker.

I've been trying to move to Vegas or Cali, from IL. No promising job leads doesn't make that happen so easily.

Don't ever let your friends or family hold you back from success. Will they be helping make you that $100K?
I wish I went away to college when I had opportunity. But I chose to go with something safe in commuting distance.
Then my gf & friends abandoned me & mom got me about $25K in medical debts.
I should have went away to college.

It's about what I make now, so I wouldn't. I imagine it depends on your prospects for making more money where you currently are, the difference in cost of living between here and there, and finally social factors such as family.

If you're making $70K where you are, but there's a possibility of making $80K if a position opens up in your current town, but the cost of living difference eats $15K of your new income, you're talking about leaving your friends and family for $5K. What seemed like a $30K increase wasn't.

I'd move anywhere in the country. That is over three times what I make as a teacher in the deep South.
