This is pitiful.

And here I am, trying to figure out how much I can spend on the stepkids for xmas. Mrs. Elektro and myself decided we weren't getting anything for each other. What we can afford goes to the kids.

EDIT>> Oops I see you're 13... I was pretty close...

BTW... the only difference between him and you guys who are putting him down ... is that he has the Internet to whine on. I bet you guys (who are of age now) used to complain and b!tch to your parents how it wasn't fair. Part of life.

Okay.. print out my reply and give it to your mom.

When I was small, I had to explain to my mom that is just never makes sense to hold computer parts for Christmas. Once she held a graphics card - graphics card ended up being bad. It took me about three months to get a new one since there are a LOT of RMAs the day after Christmas. On the rare chance that something is bad, it's much easier to RMA it before Dec 10 than before Dec 25 with January 1 following right after..

Also, computer parts, like brand-new cars, have this amazing ability to lose value quickly. The opportunity cost of giving little Jimmy (who is obviously big enough to want to build his own computer) Christmas Surprise seldom beats the opportunity cost of the actual value of the computer parts themselves. Depending on the gear, the computer could be 20% less by Christmas - why make sure not to use it?

Also, it's a horrible feeling to know that half of the rare Christmas vacation is going to be a waste. The computer makes the vacation.

BTW, instead of raising a hissy fit, I'd suggest kissing ass for the next week like you've never kissed ass before. Don't argue. Make her waffles in bed. Let her know how much you love her or how much she would like you to love her. Side with her when she argues with dad, etc.. If that doesn't work after 7 days, then raise hell like you've never raised hell before.

You poor thing! Having to post on a Dell with a 2.66 processor and only 512MB RAM. :brokenheart:

So what charity are you going to donate that raggity a55 computer you're on now to when you build your new one? Huh????

Even a charity could use a computer that old and worthless. He should just throw it in the trash. I'm not sure how this kid is surviving.

My brother for web-browsing and music.
That's not donating it. That's your parents telling you it will be his. What's his current computer? A P4 2.4???

You sound like a major spoiled brat. You should be thankful you're getting anything. If you were my kid with that pissy attitude you'd be getting nothing for Christmas.

Actually this Dell is the Familey's PC and so I can get kicked off bout anytime anyone wants on. So I just want something no one can kick me offf of.

You're fvcking 13 years old! YOU want something no one can kick you off of????

If that's the case, you should move your whiny butt out of your parents' house and start earning a living and provide your own food and shelter. THEN maybe no one could kick you off of YOUR computer.

Too bad your parents are probably just as much at fault for your attitude as you are. Damned spoiled kids.

What did you expect?

People to agree and think how unfair your horrible dilema is and agree and offer their support and condolences?

This thread is going to be burning for a while.

And they are even in the middle of a divorce. Good point.

Take the stuff, replace it with old parts, re-wrap it, she will never know.

Damn, you really need a reality check.

Maybe some charity work. Try serving some food at a homeless shelter or something similar. Maybe you'll see how fortunate and spoiled you really are.

did I ever complain to my parents about not getting what I wanted ? Fvck yeah. I also punched a hole in the wall as a result one time.

I bet all of you were perfect little angels who grew up doing exactly as you were told and didn't complain.

Solution: Build PC now, test, wrap in paper, add bow, place under tree and simmer until 12-25.

Also, your parents should wash your mouth out with soap. No, make that battery acid.
