How does a someone deaf wake up in the morning?

ndee

Lifer
Like.... he lives alone and no one is there to wake him up. How can het get up at 7am for example?

good question, maybe they just wake up when they wake up? or maybe the dog hears the aram clock and wakes em up?

My guess would be some type of lighted alarm clock, along with possible vibration or some such thing.

They have a vibrating alarm clock that they put in their pillows.

Seriously! My wife used to date a guy that was legally deaf and that's how he woke up for college classes.

maybe it's me, but if i set myself to wake up @ 5am everyday, i usually do for some reason.
w/o the alarm clock tht is

So they actually wake up their companion animal?

Yeah.

I've seen examples of deaf people having dogs that will alert them if someone knocks at the door or if the phone rings, so they could probably do this as well.

so how are they gonna talk on the phone? 😉

well, they wake up the companion animal, and that animal wakes up the deaf person 🙂

Vibrating alarms, bright flashing light alarm, companion animal wakes them up when they hear the alarm going off.

TTY service, you call a certain number and talk to an operator who types in your words, then it appears on a device at the deaf guy's place.

Most dont use a traditional phone. They use 1 of two things. A relay service or a TTY machine. A relay service is basially this. They call a number with their TTY machine and talk to a live operator. The operator then calls the person they want to talk to. A TTY machine is basically a modem like typing machine. Basically it works like AIM/MSN/ICQ.

I wonder if a TTY operator has ever had to type in a phone sex conversation.
