I fear Bush. I in no way agree with his actions or his views on most topics. In particular, his support of the Enemy Combatant designation and how he approved shipping nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain after he sent a letter to Kenny Guinn (the Gov. of Nevada) saying he would veto such a bill. His attempt to constitutionally ban Gay Marriage was also a little creepy. Federal law? Fine, whatever, I may not approve of it but there's nothing wrong with trying. But amending the Constitution is only supposed to be done for major, everyday-life-impacting stuff, things like letting women vote, or abolishing slavery. It should not be done for something as subjective as "preserving the American family."

I wish McCain was running for office. That guy rocks.

Bush weaseled out of weaseling out of serving in Vietnam.
Now he is sending soldiers who are 10 times the men he is to die for a reason that is changing every month, and directly and indirectly bashing veterans who served as soft on defense.

I think I would respect him a lot more if he was more truthful, but instead he just lies and avoids tough questions. If he would have said "We're going to Iraq because we should have finished the job the first time around, because intelligence leads me to believe they could be a threat in the near future, and because we need a stable country in the region to exert our influence and stop the Middle East from turning into a region hell bent on our destruction", I would have respected that and maybe even supported it.

I think he's just a man trying to do the best job that he can, and for that he still has my respect, but I think he needs to stop blowing off a whole portion of the country and the rest of the world just because we want answers that he feels he doesn't need to give.

you think thats threatining? these fundamental beliefs are out to get you?

"1 - belief in god's presence and accepting that god has no peers.
2 - belief in Quran
3 - belief in angels
4 - belief in god's prophets
5 - belief in that all that exists and had existed in universe are under god's will"

"The fundamental beliefs of Islam are: Firstly, the 5 Pillars of Islam

1. To bear witness that there is none worthy of worship save Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah. This verse is the declaration of faith in Islam
2. To observe 5 time Prayer (Salat).
3. To pay Zakat (Alms giving)
4. To perform the Pilgrimage to the House of Allah (Hajj).
5. To observe fasting during Ramadhan." "

i said politics and religion havnt been disconnected, yet. im hoping some day everybody will realize we can politic for the greater good without having to involve religion.

i know everything in this world is connected to everything else.

i see heavy catholic influence on countries as bad.

edit: just so that everybody knows "The literal meaning of Islam is peace"

I think you are misunderstanding me again. If every majotity muslim country was like Turkey I wouldn't see a problem. The fact is however they are not. More to the point muslims (for the most part) believe in the idea of Muslim states where policy is based on Islamic law. The ideology of Islamic Law/ Islam is completely different from one where religion is set aside for the best interest of the people.

Oh and please don't link me to "answerbag". The number of times I have read the Qur'an probably exceeds the number of years you have existed.

What would happen if he said that?
