I am an asshole, as many of you know, and I have one primary requirement for any boy who wants to talk to my daughter, ie. when you call my daughter and I or any other member of my family answers the phone, you will identify yourself BEFORE asking to speak to my daughter. If you do not I, and the other members of my family, will hang up on you. Yes, we will be just as rude as you.
So if you have a son, and one of his friends calls asking for him, will you hang up on THEM if they don't identify themselves?

If you say Yes, you're just eccentric. if you say No, you have a bit of a double standard there.

Then I am eccentric. My son is older than my daughter and I have hung up on his friends, even when I recognized their voices, because they know the rules. I still, to this day, hang up on them if they do not identify themselves. Oh, my wife agrees with me wholeheartedly. We believe it is rude to not identify yourself when you call someone.

I hate to tell you this, but, no matter how many times you hang up on guys and make them follow your little procedure, one of them is eventually going to be fvcking your daughter. And I bet its the one who states his name first...

you are an idiot. seriously.

i completely agree with you happy puppy, and im 19 for the record.

you idiots that dont say your name first and think you are in the right need to rethink your approach to life basically. i call my girlfriends house all the time and i ALWAYS say "hey, this is mrdudeman..."

it isnt complicated...not only will the person know who it is and make them more comfortable, they can tell the person you are trying to reach who it is. if said person is busy, they can tell me or whoever else called to call back at a more convenient time.

i cant believe other people dont do this, and really cant believe people think it is stupid. :roll:

edit: and before you say it, yes, all of my friends called my house and stated their names first. it is common courtesy around here

I'm 20, whenver someone answers the phone it's always "Hi it's Confused, is xxxxx there please?". Even if they have Caller ID on their phones. It's just common courtesy and common sense.

I have to say I agree with HappyPuppy with this!

I dont know, when I answer the phone and it's for someone else and they start with their name, I either think it's a telemarketer, or I think "I don't give a crap who this is, leave me alone", or if I know the person I feel like I have to make stupid conversation and that just bothers me. So I guess to each its own, but if I call and I'm polite and say "Hi, may I please speak to _____", and I get hung up on, I'm gonna be pissed.

Eh, you're all liars. You know you look at tits and ass before you actually get to know how well she can carry a conversation...nothing wrong with it.

Look, sure. But that's not the only deciding factor. Someone's manner and general attitude and intelligence are also quite important. Being around morons for too long can be hazardous to my health.

I'll tell it how it is.

I'll look at her (I'm no mind reader) and if she is pretty that is +. I'll look at her face, ass, legs and up to her boobs and then down to her ass again and repeat in a few random looks :p

If we get on + and if we can talk about random things it is good. If we have chit chat and chemistry that is great. If she doesn't then her looks doesn't matter as we won't be around each other. Or it won't last so their is no point unless either one of us just wants to get freaky. Being around girls you can't get along with or stand is NO FUN unless you don't talk much and just bone the hell out of each other.

She has to have substance and we have to get along. If not her looks can't make up for her lack of personality or our compatability together.

I don't measure them I just look at them.

Btw you can't make love to personality :p

Hmmmm when I call someone I'll just go "Hi, etc etc etc". I'm not sure if I say my name or not? Usually they'll know it is me by my voice or by if I am calling them on their mobile phone so my name and number comes up.

so, basically what i'm getting from this is you think it is rude to not say, "hi this is quizzelsnatch, can i please speak with yourmom?" but some how that makes it okay to just hang up on people without even telling them the rules of the house? you might say you are returning the favor, but basically you're just being an a-hole and not even giving them a chance to do it "right" They're not being rude at all, because this isn't the 1950s anymore and they don't know that they are SUPPOSED to state their name right off the bat. you're an a-hole.

May I rot in hell for saying this but HappyPuppy has just pointed out how I can improve my etiquette. I will first state my name from now on before asking for someone else.

Now, if I could only get his house number....

Ok

p=pretty face
b=nice front
a=nice backside
t=tilt/total package
m=mental health

ok
(2p)+(1b * 2a)=desirabilty

Desirability+ (2t)/m = yes or no

Wow, that's very thorough.
