Jeans don't keep me warm enough. It was 30 degrees and very windy last night, my legs were freezing.

If you spend much time outdoors when it's really cold (under 20 I'd say) they are absolutely necessary.

Ok, maybe if you are camping or something.

I used to have great cold tolerance. Then my girlfriend made me buy a coat, and now I get cold like a normal person.
I never knew it got that cold down there! Then again, the last time I went to Florida in February & went swimming at the beach, the locals were all wearing winter jackets. Soft - you southerners are soft.Originally posted by: txrandom
Thermal underwear leggings and jeans...at least that is the max I ever need in Houston.
Sometimes I'll also wear some shorts just to add a little extra heat to my upper legs.

Well you're just abnormal. And that's ok!Originally posted by: DrPizza
lmao! After I got married, my mother-in-law & wife insisted I wear a coat "like a normal person". I consider anything above about 35 degrees to be shorts weather - unless I'm going to be trudging through snow deeper than my sneakers. If I have to wear boots, then it's jeans or sweat pants.
If it's less than 20 degrees outside & I'm going to be outside for 8 straight hours (hunting season), then I'll put on a pair of thermal underwear. If I do though, then I have to be careful not to exert myself; if I do, I'll sweat my ass off.

Its pretty easy to keep my upper half warm, I can wear a shirt and a jacket or any number of layers I want.
How do you keep your legs warm? You can't put a coat over your jeans.

Folks who grew up in cold country know that you don't dress to stay warm (ain't gonna happen) you dress to survive.
