That's how I've always heard it from Brits. It's pronounced IVE as in give.

As per dapper wolf above, yes colour has a "U". So does favourite and neighbour. Americans are just lazy spellers.

I'm on the phone with people in London on a daily basis and this word comes up all the time (at least a dozen times per call). They pronounce it prih-vacy whereas I pronounce it pry-vacy.

prī-və-sē In case you know how to read dictionary phonetics.
Being they're not teaching phonetics in the schools anymore,maybe not.
They've switched to teaching some kind of fast-food way to read that produces better test results in short-term;but is abysmal in the long run.

The bottom line is that the English (UK) pronounce words correctly nearly every time. American's do not.
