How did you come to the AT forums?

I basically started through Tapatalk. That was how I found AnandTech, by browsing a list of "Tech" forums on an app.

Later on I would come back to use the CPU bench page. But otherwise, never would've even known about AT.

I think I joined originally for FS/FT forum, but ended up posting a bunch in Off Topic for some reason.

Went looking for advice on motherboards, this is one of the many places I found. Seemed to have the best info (at the time) so I kept coming back. Read the forums a lot to get advice.
One time I saw a dude ask a question about SPDIF and I knew I could answer it, so I joined up and posted. He was grateful.
I used to only make posts when it was genuinely helpful, averaging one a week.
Had I not found Off Topic I would have been Elite years ago and never once banned.

Looking for info on CPUs, motherboards and other tech stuff.....like 14-15 years ago. First found the Anandtech Geocities site, and have been through all the various iterations of the site and forums. Ugh, I'm getting old!

Hot Deals from way back (didn't even register until about a year after I visited regularly).

A fellow clanmember had mentioned it a few times. Checked it out - liked what I saw

I was looking for component information for my first build when I was in junior high. I started by poring over the main site for information and eventually clicked the forums link for the hell of it.

I missed this "Hot Deals" phase... Or are you guys referring to the HD sub-forum?

I've seen some nice things there - occasionally. :p

I don't recall, but I am pretty sure it was in search of some hardware information.

When I was a wee 14-15 year old, I posted on the Bleem! message board (I was the only teen in America that didn't actually own a PSX), mostly about various tech topics. When Bleem! got sued into oblivion by Sony, their board shut down, and I had to find a new tech board. How exactly I chose Anandtech, I don't know...but I did.

a slashdot link to an anandtech article.

at the time, I was working the graveyard shift in a data center and I was desperate for time-wasters that weren't outright flash games.

I found AT in my early teen years. I had a dying PC and needed to learn how it all functioned so I would know what to upgrade. I already knew how thanks to my dad, but he wasn't up to date on the latest and greatest.

Many years later, here I am.
