how did a 6200 do this???

Look at the screen shot. It is a Photoshop on almost everything. There is no way a 6200 could make it to that core clock speed. A 6800U would have trouble making to that.

Even if he did unlock more pipes, SOMEHOW, the card is still not nearly fast enough to do that. 6200's should get ~IIRC 1000. The only way this is achievable is if he modified some drivers to give horrible image quality but incredible performance.

Ummm. yes you can unlock the pipes on a 6200. It's the same core as the 6600...

Have you noticed how the 6600GT runs 500 Mhz on the core stock??

he said he OCed it and unlocked 4 pipes in it...it was also a 256mb version (if there arent any, he said something about unlocking that too....or something)

it was an evga brand

3087 points in 3dmark05??? thats what a 6600GT gets (or close)

LOL!!!! That's my computer. I can 100% guarantee you that I got that (and since even higher!) I don't really care if you believe it or not though, since other people have gotten higher clocks and scores. Mine actually pails in comparison to what other people have gotten in the past.

BTW: That was with whatever drivers I downloaded off the nvidia website with standard settings except for the clock and memory.

The cores are similiar however it has some compression algrorithms disabled as well as 4 pipes. That image has been modified.

You can unlock the pipes on 6200's.......

or am i safer with a 6600GT

The point is that you're not guaranteed these scores! I'm sure there are 3000+ winchesters out there that can clock faster than FX-55 CPUs, but it's not guaranteed. I have heard of people who can't even unlock the pipes. It's all luck of the draw, if you're lucky enough you got yourself an awesome deal on a card. If not, you got what you paid for. Overclocking is NOT guaranteed.

OK i stand corrected.

I never said you couldn't unlock the pipes. I said "if he managed to" as the success rate isn't very high AFAIK.

As long as its not the 6200 turbo cache you can open the pipes.

That image looks photoshopped if you look closely you can tell especially on the part of hte nv cpanel where it shows the clocks look closly where it says the MHz you can see the colors change there is a grey box around the MHz.

If you mod the 6200, it will void your warranty, and that is really the only thing to worry about. Also, even if someone gets insane clocks on a 6200, doesn't mean that you will, which is another concern.

Actually, I strongly believe that it hasn't. I went through this whole "Fake Image" thing with you before, and I stand with Ackbar on this one. I have seen other posts with better scores than him, as well as worse ones. I believe him, and you shouldn't go around bashing people for things. Who knows, maybe your just jeleous, but quite with the flaming, its getting really old. I don't mind if your posts are helpful, but just as with Rollo, if you have nothing worthy to post, don't post at all.

i think u can only unlock the AGP ones, the PCI ones are a different core, with only 4 pipes max

its is true these thing overclock like complete bastages

Sorry for all the confusion guys, you're right... it was photoshoped. Here's the real one... http://www.phys.ufl.edu/~atchars/real6200oc.jpg

lol

you got some wicked skillz on the photo chop man

Interesting overclock. Almost as fast as my GT.
Why don't you post the results online so everybody can believe you instead of running a bootlegged PE version?

Well, I for one an testfy that the 6200 is a mad overclocker and that the pipes can be unlocked. I currently running my Leadtek A6200 128 TD (AGP) at 375/685 c/8 pipes.
