That's a pretty cheap 6600! Link? I think you can get 6600's for $120-130 ish, but not $110. I did think about that prior to buying my 6200 though so don't get me wrong. The problem is I can get a brand X 6600 cheapo for $120 or so, while I can get the best 6200 for $105 or so. That may only be $15, but if the 6200 has better memory that can clock higher... why not go for the 6200? I have yet to have seen a 6600 with memory that can overclock at or higher than what I or AB86 can get.

$109 shipped. Delivered yesterday but stuck at rental office since I got out of the office too late. =[

I wonder if that is actually caused by the NV bridge chip?

NV43....

The 6200 (AGP) is just a 6600 with pipelines masked in the bios...

If you get the 4ns or 3.6ns ram, you might get close to 6600 performance if you can unlock the pipelines.

If you can find a 2ns or 1.6ns ram version you might get close to 6600GT performance if you can unlock the pipelines. With overclocking, of course....

I think it's funny that this thread went from,
"OMG!!! These scores are impossible for a 6200 to get! He's a liar!"
to...
"ehh... I'm not impressed, it's really not worth it."

LOL!!!

I did not accuse you of photoshopping your image. Someone else did well before i even posted IIRC.

I believe him, and you shouldn't go around bashing people for things. Who knows, maybe your just jeleous, but quite with the flaming, its getting really old. I don't mind if your posts are helpful, but just as with Rollo, if you have nothing worthy to post, don't post at all.

You are some character aren't you? I haven't flamed anyone. On the contrary, i said i am sorry and that i stand corrected. WHat else did you want me to do to apologize? Again i have not flamed AT ALL in this thread. Do not bring Rollo into this thread, because he posts well more valuable information than you do. You are in no position to be telling me how to post; especially since you illegally returned 2 video cards and lied about a whole slew of things. But we wont get into that, i dont hold grudges, nor will I ever.

For the record i did contribute to this thread however i was proven wrong and promptly apologized.

Appologies. I didn't see your appology when I posted mine.

only AGP 6600 in stock

So at $119, the 6200 is a pretty good deal, if you can unlock the pipes. I'm talking about AGP, not PCIe.

Okay I think I found the card for my brother. Any tips on what brand to look for?

Anyway, this might turn out to be a "low" cost excuse to go to pci-e

But where are the low-cost CPUs to build with ?

Touche. In all reality I think I will be sticking with my XP-M system till it dies from overclocking.

Is it a bad idea to get the 256 MB versions of the 6200? It seems like they generally have lower stock clockspeeds. And yet the price difference is minimal ~$10.

A 939 is a nice buy, but low-cost it ain't.

The problem AMD has is that they have too many processors with not enough speed/PR difference between them to market effectively.

The eVGA 6200 AGP is a strong card, but I've read there are two revisions out currently. I have the "hardlocked" version myself, Rivatuner won't let me unlock the additional pipes. (I believe its the A4 revision of the chip) Anyone else experience this on the card? (I was able to do an ok overlock, 376 mhz core, and 526 on the ram through Coolbits)
