Well, mine is always on vibrate. I don't think I've ever used the ringer function except for when I was playing with ringtones when I first got it. So, I think that's what helped my score a little. :p

I like to publicly scorn and humilate discourteous public cell phone abusers, especially the ones who act like using their phone in public makes them look cool. My favorites are to say things out loud like, "Oh, you must be so important!" or "What a status symbol it is to own a cell phone these days now that they cost less than a home phone!"

I'm impressed by your rudeness to rudeness :)

WTF? 79, and i'm very courteous about my cellphone uses.

That's the problem with most cell phone users, they have no idea what is considered rude.

Hm i ONLY have it on Vibrate at all times. I don't use the phone in public, unless i can get into another room or outside. I think what got me was the multiple choices of the various venues, like sporting event, church, class etc. I put all vibrate on those, but that doesn't necessarily mean i answer the phones, just how my ringer is set up.

I got a 97 and I answered vibrate for every single one of those. That can't be it. Actually, from what you said it sounds like you put in the same answers as I did, but still got a lower score.

Edit: The only time I ever take my phone off vibrate is when I go to sleep but am expecting a call. Then I turn it up to max volume. That can't be considered rude because I'm in my own home and I rarely do it. The way I figure it, if I've taken my pants off (phone is in my pocket) for any reason, then I'm probably not in the mood to answer the phone.

I scored 100 because it's always turned off, and I never use it in public or while driving for that matter. I'm surprised there weren't any driving related questions.

How many times has this happened to you? You're having a conversation with a friend when without warning and in mid-sentence he/she answers a cell call and keeps you waiting while they chit-chat?

Or worse, how many have experienced this in a work environment where you are discussing business matters when you are "put on hold" in your own office while someone chats it up with his/her friend or spouse?

While it may be a necessary tool for living in the 21st century, public cell phone use is unfortunately rapidly changing our culture into a less courteous people. The next time someone in public annoys you by chatting on their cell phone while you're trying to eat, watch a movie or taking a leak for crying out loud, remember that thought next time you answer your phone.

I'm always astounded when I see someone talking on the phone while they're dealing with a bank teller or checker at the grocery store. It's as if they just consider the person to be a machine, not human. WTF? Does anyone here admit to doing this, and how do you justify acting like that?

I'd rather see someone check the caller ID on their cell phone than hear the kid behind me continually crinkle the wrapper his candy came in. Now THAT is distracting....

I scored 88 with honest answers. I went back and answered everything "correctly" and got 100. So I know the proper etiquette, but my actual actions really depend on whom I'm with.

When I go to a sit-down dinner with someone, I turn the phone off, unless I'm expecting a call, in which case I will tell the people. Out at a bar, I set it to vibrate. When I go to the library to study solo, I set it to silent (no vibes) and set the phone on the table. If I go to a movie theater, I turn it off. If I go to a LIVE theater, I leave the phone in the car--I'm not taking any chances that I'll forget to turn it off, because having a phone ring in a live theater is one of the rudest things you can do to the actors and the rest of the audience, unless you also answer it, but I've never personally seen that happen.

EDIT: Just for fun, I'm now going to try to score a zero!
