What do you mean?

A ka24de can be rebuilt and turbo'd to ~400hp for less than 10k easy.
I may be wrong, but I bet the 240 is lighter than the vette, too. My 240 says it weighs ~2700 lbs. on it.

Wanna get even cheaper?

Get a '91-'93 240SX for 2-3k and drop an sr or build the ka w/ 10k and smoke vettes for ~13k!

Id have a hard time picking between that and the Viper... if the Corvette actually had a nice interior would be even better (typical GM crap interior)

Seems to me that would kill a lot of potntial viper sales... why go for a viper when you can get the same performance from the vette for much cheaper?

The viper looks bad ass, though. The older one at least. New one looks like a wannabe vette.

vette + 50k = lingenfelter vette which will tear up any 240sx on the road (twin turbo v8..runs 8.95 on 1/4 and is not gutted or tubed)
240s are nice cars but nowhere near lingefelter vette... you cant even compare them

I doubt a 240sx could ever handle as well as a Corvette. But then again I've only driven one of them. And a 400hp KA24 is unreliable, and is likely to put some holes in your hood IMO.

Not really comparing the two... just comparing how frequent each one is mentioned. G35 seems to be really popular now. I wasn't here yet the C5 came out... it looks rather boring now but i must admit it made me look twice the first time i saw it. From people's responses here... it looks like the Corvette is just a so-so car.

I don't think a ka-t is unreliable at all but whatever...

240 with coil-overs/sway bars/subframe brace/tension rods/strut tower bars probably comes pretty close to 1.03 or better...

heck drop 50k into a vette and only 10k into 240sx and the sx will destroy it... not to mention the fact that the corvette is horrible if it isn't going in a straight line and with simple modifications the sx is far better in corners

oh not to mention the 240sx gives head while you drive it will get you all playboy models you'll ever need

My dad has a 96' vette and is getting a 2003/4 Z06 soonish. I think they're great cars, probably the best designed domestic car I've ever seen (besides the new Viper, pretty sweet in person). The only thing is that sure, they can outperform pretty much any car out there on straight lines and in corners, but what corvette ever does? They're mostly driven by people like my dad, 55+ and are about as likely to take it over the speed limit as they are to stop doing a comb-over.
