yes, i served aboard one of the Trident submarines ported in Bangor
our bunk rooms were in between the missile tubes, so i slept about 25-30 feet from the warheads

I had a teacher in high school who served on the Henry M. Jackson for 17 years.

I went on a field trip in his class once to Bangor... took a tour of one of the trident subs... I think it was the Ohio?
I enjoyed walking right by the missile tubes and seeing the head between them.

i assume anyone living on a coast could have navy warheads nearby at the navy's discretion. do bombers still train with real bombs, or do they use fakes?

Who cares? If Russia/US or China/US or Russia/China ever exchange, we all all carbon particles anyway.

Even an India/Pakistan full exchange will change life as we know it.

He's out of the bottle.

god I love the images. That just made me crack up.

about 200 km I assume (never officially confirmed).
Not that it would really matter if it was targeted... The amount off fallout coming from the targets in the UK, France, belgium and Germany would probably kill us anyway...

wiki quote:
It is believed that since 1965, USAF nuclear weapons are stored at Volkel Air Base, to be used by the host nations aircraft. The USAF 703rd Munitions Support Squadron is in charge of maintaining and securing the weapons. As of 2008, 22 B61 nuclear bombs are believed to be in storage at Volkel, to be used by the Dutch 311 and 312 F-16 squadrons at the base. Despite clear evidence, the Dutch Ministry of Defence never officially acknowledges or denies the presence of nuclear weapons at Volkel.
