What am I looking at? A dashboard?  What I'm getting at is it looks like striking it with a hammer to deform it back to what it's supposed to look like is probably out of the question.  And, probably using a manual impact is probably no good too. 
Try to do some of the stuff people in the thread have said first. If that doesn't work it is going to be tough to do without marring the surrounding surface, but if you're game you could try taking a small chisel or prick punch to the outside edge to break it free. Or, using a dremel like tool grind a slot for a flat blade screwdriver.
