Championship caliber team

One draft down, one to go.

Had a weird draft this morning:

Starters:
Culpepper, Daunte QB MIA
Dunn, Warrick RB ATL
McGahee, Willis RB BUF
Boldin, Anquan WR ARI
Burress, Plaxico WR NYG
McMichael, Randy TE MIA
Brown, Josh K SEA
Seahawks, DST DST SEA

Reserves:
Rivers, Philip QB SD
Taylor, Fred RB JAC
Curtis, Kevin WR STL
Lloyd, Brandon WR WAS
White, Roddy WR ATL
Colts, DST DST IND

Not my usual cast of characters, but I am usually pretty good at trades and waiver wire work.

Meh, I like your receivers, but I'd say you are severely lacking at RB. I wouldn't clear a space in your trophy case just yet.

Do you have a preferred spot to pick from? I would rather pick last in the first round (in a typical last-picks-first-next-round draft) than anywhere else.

In the draft above, I picked 6th out of 12 - the absolute WORST spot, if you ask me.

Dislocated shoulder, brought in TJ Duckett who is a far superior short yardage (read - red zone) back any day. Portis stock went down this week.

yeah, unfortunately. Might not be a severe injury, but still, can cost him later on in the season.

I had Portis last Fantasy season. Was planning on drafting him again, but not anymore with the addition of TJ Duckett, his stats aren't going to be nearly as good as they were last year now that he's going to be sharing the load and more than likely giving up those short yardage TDs.

VERY nice if you ask me, you have most of the high-end guys I planned on bidding for my in auction league (Bulger, Williams, Jackson, Chambers) and you even got the kicker I was thinking about.

Both of my teams have me in an unstable position in the RB spot. My sleeper pick this year is DeAngelo Williams, rookie for the Caroline Panthers. He will be the starting RB before the end of this season.

WR C. Chambers
WR M. Muhammad
RB R. Droughns
RB D. Rhodes
TE H. Miller
BN D. Stallworth (WR)
BN B. Leftwich (QB)
BN M. Barber (RB)
BN D. Williams (RB)
K A. Vinatieri
BN L. Tynes (K)
DEF Chicago
BN Dallas (DEF)

Team 2:
QB J. Delhomme
WR M. Harrison
WR C. Johnson
WR Ma. Jones
RB J. Jones
RB D. Williams

BN M. Barber (RB)
BN C. Chambers (WR)
BN A. Toomer (WR)
BN S. McNair (QB)
K J. Wilkins
BN L. Tynes (K)
DEF Chicago
BN Jacksonville (DEF)

Manning is about the only QB worth a 1st round pick.

Yea, Manning is definitely worth a high pick. Other QBs not so much, but you know Manning will consistantly score.

QB- D. McNabb PHI
WR- T. Houshmandzadeh CIN
WR-M. Muhammed CHI
WR- M. Jones JAC
RB- L. Johnson KC
RB- D. Davis HOU
TE- A. Gates SD
K- D. Akers PHI
DEF- Tampa Bay
BN- K. Curtis STL-WR
BN- M. Brunell WAS-QB
BN- B. Edwards CLE-WR
BN- M. Bell DEN-RB
BN- Philadelphia

My team. I don't think it's too bad this year. I plan on running my starters into the ground. Injuries may hurt.

I think you need to start working the phones and the waiver wire. Other than LJ and Gates, honestly, blech! (Not that my first draft (above) was all that great, either.)

Based on last years #'s I'll have the 2nd best record in our league (out of 14 w/Yahoo scoring). I'm putting up 70+ pts almost every week. To each his own I guess.

QB,WR,WR,RB,RB,WR/RB,TE,K,DEF

I had the 3rd pick out of 14 teams (I won last year - $900!)

(3) S. Alexander RB
(26) W. Dunn RB
(31) C. Chambers WR
(54) D. Driver WR
(59) D. Mason WR
(82) J. Kitna QB
(87) V. Morency RB
(110) Carolina DEF
(115) G. Jones RB
(138) B. Volek QB
(143) S. Graham K
(166) Z. Hilton TE
(171) K. Winslow TE
(194) B. Stokley WR
(199) V. Jackson WR

I didn't want to draft a QB early, I wanted to draft potential sleepers - Kitna or Volek. Kitna is under the Martz system (that produced Bulger and Warner for the Rams) and Volek was great when he replaced McNair 2 years ago. Volek has had more TDs in the first 10 games than ANY OTHER Qb in NFL History.

I have dropped Stokley and Hilton so far for Norwood (ATL) and M.Turner (SD).

Out of the 4 backup RBs that I have (Morency,Jones,Norwood,Turner), one of them is bound to be a started and my sleeper!!

I was just noting that you have:

McNabb: a QB who is on the downside of his career with no WRs;
Houshmandzadeh: a No. 2 WR with a damaged QB (though he does show up every third game or so);
Muhammed: a good WR, but with no QB;
Jones: an unproven 2nd year WR (WRs usually do ;
Davis: an oft injured RB;

The rest of the team (other than LJ and Gates) are ok, but also easily replaceable through waivers.

Based on last years numbers, I would not carry McNabb, Muhammed, Jones or Davis, but, like you said, to each his own I guess.
