my benefits are pretty awesome.

- 27 days pto if 10 years industry experience (which i have), 22 days otherwise (doesn't have to be experience at the company, just industry experience)
- 8 holidays
- automatically put 7% of your salary into your 401k, regardless of you contributing
- 2x your salary life insurance for free
- free health insurance + they contribute $110/month into an HSA for you
- flex hours (can basically work whenever i want as long as i get my work done)
- $25/month "health" credit (if you exercise an hour or more a week, pays for my gym membership)
- tuition reimbursement (up to $3k/course, have to get B or better, been tempted to use this but havent yet)

company also sent me a card with a $100 amex gift card in it when i had my son last month, which was pretty cool. the ceo also comes around at xmas time and hands out $100 amex gift cards as well, and we get our bonus at that time on top of that.

Pretty awesome. I don't understand this language:

- automatically put 7% of your salary into your 401k, regardless of you contributing

Isn't this just a fancy way of saying, "This is a mandatory 7% subtraction of YOUR salary to 401k. We actually match nothing."

I'm like your average Anandtech member

Salary: 250k
Holidays: 365 days
Vacations: not needed
401k: 100% match (even if no contribution)
Healthcare: $0 deductible/no cost out of pocket....EVER (free dental/eye)
Bonus: $10 Million
Free car, house, food, taxes and any other expense covered.

if it works like my company...

say, you earn $100k and get paid weekly, every week $7,000/52 will be deposited into your 401k independent of whatever contributions you're making yourself... even if you contribute nothing, the company still deposits that amount into your account.

if you want to put it that way, sure. i mean i make X, i don't make X - 7%.

but that could be said for any salary, saying "we would pay you more if you didn't contribute to your 401k".

and my pay is great though, no slouch at all. when putting my data into salary.com, i'm at about the 90% for my position.

5 Weeks PTO (more the longer you stay, I think it becomes 6 @ 5 year mark)

Hybrid Retirement benefit: Small (~2% 401k match) with an increasing pension plan benefit that requires no contribution of my part. They put in ~$5k to start and the rest is based on years with the company.

6 Different medical plans for whatever tickles your fancy - everything from HSA compliant cheaper to fully paid 100% coverage after co-pays. Currently on the 100% coverage plan at approx $250/month for me and my wife.

Oh, and no one really gives a shit where you are 8-5 assuming you are within schedule. As long as you get your shit done, no one is going to bug you and say "WHERE WERE YOU AT 2:30?!"... Anyone at anytime could be flying out, driving, etc...

Yeah, I mean, you could rationalize the same way for 401(k) matches or for any non-salary benefit. It all adds up to the total compensation cost for the company.

PTO
Vacation - 4 weeks
Holidays - 10
Sick - I have no idea, when I'm sick I stay home and log in and do what I can, no one keeps track.

401(k) - 100% match up to 5%, good investment options (Vanguard funds)

Health - I use the HSA which includes a $500 employer contribution an 80/20 PPO is also available. Dental PPO

Other: Group Life Insurance, Short term DI, subsidized long term DI

I'm pretty satisfied, but I wish they had a ESOP.

Zero. I work for an asshole.

Heard he employs child laborers too.

I start Monday @ my next gig. Right off the bat, 3 weeks PTO, 80% match on 5% (I think) and FULL medical coverage for me alone. Reimbursement for phone/internet plus end of years bonus.

This is all active immediately. No waiting. New tech companies are the bees knees.

Just got a new job.

4 weeks PTO
50% match on first 6% for 40k1 with very very good options for funds with immediate vesting
Health Care is extremely good
Gym and transportation compensation

Not bad for a year out of college without a relevant degree.

I believe my company (old school financial firm) provides this on day 1 as well, although the 401(k) match won't vest for a year.

Problem is that a lot of their workforce aren't employees anymore.

2 Weeks PTO, 2 Floating Holidays, If you're sick, you're sick.
100% matching on 401k up to 7%
Glowing health care options
Huge vendor discounts
Safety reimbursement
Compensation for child care

33 PTO days, 8 company holidays
100% match for first 3%, 50% up to 6%
HDHP HSA plan. so low premiums ($15 or so per paycheck) but really high deductible ($2500Kish)

10 days pto until 5 years, then 1 extra day/yr until im at 15 days [weird]
3 sick days pto
some holidays, and early gtfo for these [new years/eve, xmas/eve, something else]
-lots of leniency in this. medical appointment that eats most of the afternoon? not counted against me
-father died and i was out for 4 days? not counted against me
-need to get in late or leave early to run errands now and again? no problem.

no 401k match :-/
company ESOP
-im 32, ill decide at 35 if i want to stay or look around. but its a great job.

medical is so so. i think its like $350/mo for me and 2 kids, $3k deductable each. that got worse this year and will likely get worse next year.

bonuses are inconsistent but...i got 2 raises in my first year and ive been promised another 13k in raises over the next 18 months.

there is minor travel but i get a company car and credit card for hotels, food and fuel.

my cell bill is reimbursed since i am on call

8 minute commute to work [ridiculously awesome]

You forgot to mention blowjob Wednesdays.

I need a new job. 🙁

2 weeks PTO, 4 floating holidays, 6 federal holidays, 3% 401k match (50% of 6%), and 5 sick days a year, and on call with no cell reimbursement. 😛

I am curious.... for those with 6+ weeks of PTO/Sick/Holidays - Where do you work?

I always hear it's liberal areas like the Bay Area that get those kind of benefits. Just curious.... If I need to move 😛
