I love asian girls, but not for them being submissive (and they usually aren't unless they were brought up IN an asian country). The last 3 asian girls I have dated two weren't submissive and the 3rd was dominant o_o

I hate most anime, and im not middle aged :D

Same. I do prefer Asian ladies but I don't think I've ever met one I'd call submissive. It's an old stereotype which I think derives from Japanese geisha. Heck, the last girl I dated certainly wasn't submissive, and had a white guy fetish. She sought me out. Everybody has their own individual personality, and likes and dislikes. Why is sexual preference regarding gender okay but we draw the line at mixing ethnicities?

I think introverts are more common in Asian cultures (remember reading that somewhere) and quietness is often confused for submissiveness. I think most of the attacks are coming from young Asian men upset that the white boys are "stealing their women". Nonsense.

usual race bate BS. Liberals love hate and discontent. So much of the liberal agenda is founded on making everybody equally miserable.

Then you've been talking to idiots. They either can't separate isolated incidents from general behavior or they are basing their entire view of a country on the equivalent of a high school atmosphere. I've seen tons of anti-American bullshit on the internet from Russians, but I found Russia to be a great place. Just something to think about...

By asking such stupid questions and being so gullible, you are perpetuating a stereotype - one that would piss me off just as much as if it was about any other country. Go read an American news site if you want to see what's going on. If Asians were really treated so poorly, it would be in the news.

You will find idiots who make racist remarks in every city no matter where you are on the entire planet. Believing that an entire country behaves the same way makes you an even bigger idiot. I grew up in the south and witnessed very, very few incidents that could be considered racist - all of which were dealt with swiftly. It's not different there than it is anywhere else in the country. The only exception might be very rural areas with older people who haven't let go of the past, but they are a dying breed.

Nobody cares about Asians. The Chinese students that were living in my dorm were told the same BS when they were in China. Its not true, overt racism is pretty uncommon anymore in most places.

Do you know that those Asian chicks are damaged goods, right? Why would anyone care about damaged goods/spoiled milk? Go get them Gaijin, get them all.

I can't say I've ever felt discriminated against in the midwest/Canada. I think some kid called me a beloved patriot back in middle school or something, but once his parents found out he was grounded for like a month.

I grew up in a primarily white area. (Oakland County, MI)

Take, for example, the show Big Bang Theory. Why is only the Indian guy, Raj, stereotyped to be extremely awkward when it comes to talking to women?

Maybe for the same reason the Phd nerds are stereotyped as being as being asexual, the Jewish guy as being sheltered and living with his mom, the comic book store proprietor as being awkward around women... in other words the entire show is nothing but a collection of stereotypes presented in a humorous way?

I heard about Americans loving Asian women but it is more because they are stereotyped into being submissive and loyal than anything else; basically a housemaid.
Which is racism in of itself.

Maybe some of that, but its mostly just because most Asian women aren't fat.

I'd say NYC area is pretty much low to no racism at all while if you move to the Bronx area in the poorer sections you'll start noticing more incidents of racism. I find it's mostly the kids who are the first to shout beloved patriot but I've never been called that by any of the adults who know better. So morale of the story is stay out of the shitty areas of the US and you'll be fine.

whoaaa...who are you? how old are you and what do you do? how is your statement so on the mark? this is mighty accurate...

LA/SF/NYC (not the state)/Seattle pretty much complete integration. Cities like Austin/Dallas are close (maybe another decade). The most "racists" are in the Northeast. People in the non-big city South just aren't used to seeing Asians in real life so they are typically ignored. The most racist against Asians by race are blacks then followed by Mexicans. Whites usually are too scared to be racist against anyone these days.

Corporate racism against Asians still exists everywhere with LA/SF being the least. That will change in the next two decades.

Compared to Asia and Europe though, Asians in the US are treated (relatively) "the same." Asians are treated the worst in Asia, then in Europe (known as "orientals"). Worst in France. Best in Scandinavia.

All kidding aside, Asians are generally well respected...at least in the Midwest. Maybe it's different in NYC or LA. As a whole, I find the Asian culture to be very respectful of others with an emphasis on education and family. Truthfully, US culture should be emulating them.

Also, Asians give the best massages :sneaky:

I heard pretty nasty things about how Asians are treated in the U.S and I just want to see what you guys have personally experienced with or around them.

Just some honesty would be nice since I heard some major horror stories about discrimination against Asians.

I have some friends that are coming to the U.S from Asia and I just want to reassure them that they aren't going to get hurt.. either mentally or physically.

However, I don't want to lie.

illegal aliens?? if so then i hope all thy get are the slave jobs.

if not then i welcome them with open arms and wish them the best.

What about the South?

I asked this question on other forums and was instructed to stay the heck away from there.

It depends where you go in the "South". In general, it is the least educated/poorest part of our country so better to stay away. Oh, and add WV to that (though technically not in the South).

The NE is hit or miss, probably the only major city I'd stay away from is Boston. For whatever reason, they have the least integration of the major cities in the NE. NY/NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC metro areas are fine. I'd say once you get to Richmond, VA area is where the "South" begins. Or some would argue NC.

Out of all the minorities though, I'd say Asians are treated/viewed the best in this country.
