Well of course they're hated. They're taking our JOBS. All with their fancy pants big degrees and crap. Fucking Snobs.

Are they?

DOn't Asian only make up 5% of the Overall U.S population. Blacks and Hispanics still dominate the U.S minority front in terms of overall population so it would make more sense that Blacks and Hispanics are the ones that hold more jobs than Asians comparatively?

From what I have heard, most Asians work blue collar jobs like cooks, busboys..etc, I guess the immigrant jobs is what I call it.

Nobody cares about Asians. The Chinese students that were living in my dorm were told the same BS when they were in China. Its not true, overt racism is pretty uncommon anymore in most places.

If they stop by the US at the end of October we give them lots of free candy.

You don't have to wait till October. Just look for the van:

Ok you be trolling

Haha I like a little laugh once in a while but I am completely without a certain doubt serial in this thread.

I was just replying to the user who stated that Asians took all the jobs with their big fancy degrees.

From personal experiences and from other people's post on the webs it seems that most Asians work blue collar jobs hence why the majority of Asian businesses ranged from restaurants to dry cleaners.

Not to mentioned Asians only make up 5% of the overall U.S population last time I checked.

I noticed that in SF, an overwhelming majority of asians are of chinese descent (like 90% it feels like). I know asians aren't as respected in SF by non-asians as you might find in NYC where the best and brightest head towards. There are too many low status chinese people in SF who barely speak english. A lot of chinese girls in SF look like they just moved to america and they are ugly as hell.

People who have lived in SF their whole lives don't realize it. Asians have a much better perception in cities like NYC, DC, and LA where there is a higher concentration of americanized and higher status asian americans.

Seems like a highly localized truth due to the location and size of the SF Chinatown.

I heard about Americans loving Asian women but it is more because they are stereotyped into being submissive and loyal than anything else; basically a housemaid.
Which is racism in of itself.

Not at all. You have a lot of misinformation.

Some drunk told me to get back on my boat and go back to China this weekend. Then he told my girlfriend (white) that "he speaks American good".

It's been a couple weeks since someone made a comment based on my race but it does happen from time to time, never been assaulted or anything. My gf usually gets more offended about it than I do, I think part of it is because her grandparents and extended family are pretty racist and the N-word is still part of their everyday vocabulary.

I can tell you from experience that is not the case, and not what I expect.

Bound to be a couple assholes everywhere. Truth be told the country seems more racist toward mexicans and african-americans than asians. They'll probably encounter more "accidental" racism just based on lack of knowledge, as in most americans lump all asians together and don't know any better. I can't imagine there will be issues.

I can tell you from experience with anime-loving whities and middle aged creeps that many of them have a fascination for female Asians for this exact reason.

EDIT: Unrelated anecdote, but the only time I have ever witnessed racism against white people was in visits to Hawaii. It was worst in Kauai. Stop Asian-on-white racism! >:(

I love asian girls, but not for them being submissive (and they usually aren't unless they were brought up IN an asian country). The last 3 asian girls I have dated two weren't submissive and the 3rd was dominant o_o

I hate most anime, and im not middle aged :D

Trolling suspected.......

False, he is being SUPER serial!

Haha I like a little laugh once in a while but I am completely without a certain doubt serial in this thread.

There is very little overt racism in the US.

Generally, no one thinks poorly of east Asians or Indians, they are, in the mind of many whites, the "model minority"; assimilating and flourishing in the educational system and destroying the "minorities are bigoted against" argument for the rampant failure of black and Hispanic poverty-producing cultures.

There's nothing systemic to blacks, natives, east Asians, Indians or anyone else that makes them good or bad; but there are cultures that are more or less compatible with success in "white" american culture.

Today, the bias is etho-concentrism; Many assume that 'white' american culture is right and the black and Hispanic cultural perspectives are wrong. Many then judge people on what they perceive to be the "content of their character" (read willingness to be isomorphic to the 'white-is-right' way of doing things) rather than the color of their skin.

In sum: There is nothing to worry about physically or hate-wise beyond what whites face, as most assume that most Asians are good folks (even if they assume them to be cheep, racist, self-aggrandizing, style-before-substance, sneaks).

Some people at my school call me a beloved patriot and racist jokes about people dying when they dropped the atomic bomb and small eyes and shit

School environment is quite different from 'the real world' and bullies will try to use anything they can think of to get at you.

Do you have any issues when just going around town?

Overall, there are far fewer overt racists in the US than in many other countries (especially Western Europe).

You will generally be safe if you avoid high crime areas and walking around after sunset.

Also, while it may be true a good proportion of certain ethnic group immigrants work in blue collar jobs, most of their children (i.e. 2nd generation) tend to work in white collar jobs.

As evidenced by how many of my Asian friends are doctors, lawyers, and engineers.

I've lived in Washington and California and there are large Asian populations in both places. Asians are treated pretty much like everyone else. Biggest differences I've heard are jokes about driving ability and strict parenting of over-achiever kids.

What kind of horror stories have you heard?

I think Washington only has a large asian population because they're all in fucking Seattle! (Seriously, %30+ of UW's total population is asian. WT?FWF_#$RTEG)

Can't tell if this is a serious thread or not.

Me neither.

But if it is....I will throw my two cents in to say this: No one really gives a crap about Asians. Asians are not known for causing crime or starting trouble, so very little to no outward racism exists towards them. I suppose if you were Asain and you went walking around in the wrong side of Detroit you may be attacked, but that would be true if you were white, pink, brown or black anyway. So nothing really racist about that.
