Whats the M3 look like... Whenever I read BMW all I think about is my brother who works for GE Capitol telling me they have the 3rd most warranty claims in the US so I stray as I only have one driver vehicle right now and no time for garage work.

So I honestly don't know what they look like, if you send me a picture of one in a rearview mirror of a Lightning, it might help jog my memory ;)

<< The new 2001 M3 coupe. Power. Precision. Passion.
Good things come to those who wait. In 4.8 seconds.*
While you've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new BMW M3 coupe, M has been working feverishly to produce the best M3 ever. The new 3.2-liter, twin-cam engine produces 333 horsepower at 7900 rpm?over 35% more horsepower than its predecessor. Torque is 262 lb.-ft. @ 4900 rpm. The result of all this is a staggering 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds.*

For the first time, all M3s have the same engine?the most sophisticated six-cylinder engine in BMW's history. It produces more than 100 horsepower-per-liter, a rarely achieved accomplishment for a normally aspirated engine, thanks in part to Double-VANOS variable valve timing technology. The engine's electronic drive-by-wire throttle and six individual throttle butterflies ensure instantaneous response.

SVT, you seem to think that high compression engines can't be modded at all. If you simply changed the compression ratio a little, you could do whatever you wanted to it as far as forced induction goes. Granted, it's a lot more work to do something like that, but it's definitly possible. And the LT1 is up there as far as compression goes as well, 10.1 , a full 1.1 more than the Stang's 4.6.

<< Zero to 60 in four seconds. Lateral acceleration ? 1.0g. Top speed ? over 170 mph. Massive power alone does not make a high performance sports car. All performance systems ? engine, transmission, chassis, tires and suspension ? must work in harmony.

Faster revving. Deeper breathing. Stronger internals. With a horsepower rating of 385 at 6000 rpm and torque rating of 385 lb.-ft. at 4800 rpm, the LS6 engine is very good news for performance-focused enthusiasts.

With a fixed-roof hardtop body, Z06-specific wheels, new front fascia grille inserts, functional rear brake cooling ducts, and titanium mufflers and tailpipes, the new Z06 becomes the latest addition to the heritage of legendary Corvettes.

The LT1 hasn't been in the Vette since 96, maybe you meant the LS1?

NaughtyusMaximus, you've only driven that thing once? shame on you! Drive it a bit and you'll be surprised how much you like driving something as big as a house. The car i use most of the time is a '85 crown vic and i actually prefer it now to most smaller cars. I'd probably trade it in for a vette though, hehe

I looked for BMW the other week at the Datona races, but only Vette, Viper and Porsche seemed to show up to the winner circle there. :p

I'm white and I love all cars. Of course, there's a difference between what I like and what I'll drive. But some people just have their niches (as Val exhibits in just about every thread) and others (like me) will drive anything that's nice, from any country.

America = Cheap performance, great bang for buck, little refinement
Europe/Germany = Refinement at a cost
Japan = Good balance of refinement and performance, again with a cost

I find pleasure in all 3 catagories :)
