It's not Sunday, the unadvertised sale is over. If BB has the 120GB drives in stock, just have them PM CC!

I think I may have missed the banana boat on this deal. :frown: One CC denied me, male CSR, knew about the rebate. Went to another, they said they'll have more drives in tomorrow, hmmmm. So maybe I'll give it one more try...

I want to say I had success with other B&M, I got Fry's to match the local $100 BB drive, and it came with a $80 rebate. So $20 isn't bad for a 129gb 8mb cache drive. I smiled when I saw their computer display "Warning Gross Profit < 0" .

Which frys? and to Which best buy?

I came this morning and they couldn't do because it was closed. The manager like telling the other employee you have to call to to find out why they are selling at this price.

oh another thing did you buy the drive first at BB then went to frys or just told them BB had it for 100 bucks?

I just walked up to the CC store with the printout of the BB price tag provided earlier and said I'd like to PM this. Westminster BB said they might be getting more in tomorrow, give them a call at 10am to double check (be persistant, they're a bunch of morons when it comes to answering the phone). It's possible you'll get the PM at a CC...no guarentees though. You may have to go to CC in westminster or south denver to get it. If you don't think you can get it, I'd say just return it. I for one think I can get it because I got the PM...we'll see though.

SCORE!!!! :D

i got the deal! finally, i get in on one of these awesome "make money after MIR" deals!!!

it was easy - just walked in with the print-out of the bb price tag and my cc receipt from my original purchase - nothing on it about getting a mir - and asked for the pm. the cute young red-head did a double-take when she saw the price, but didn't complain about it at all. 3 minutes later i'm walking out with my free hard drive. i love AT Hot Deals!!!

That sounds great, but I was "shot down" three times today. I guess I wasn't meant to get this deal.:(

Well Best Buy in Sugar Land, TX and Sharpstown has the price back up to 159.99, 179.99. Odd that they have different pricing. Neither have any stock regardless. Looks to me like the deals dead or dying.

That means you don't live on this forum, which is good or bad depending on how you want to look at it... :D

I picked up mine (last one on the shelf!) at one of the CCs in town today. Tomorrow, I'm gonna try bringing the receipt and scanned priced tag in to the other local store and hope for the best on the PM! Even the AR price of $80 is pretty darn good on this, so I'll probably keep the drive regardless.

p.s.- RonCur, how fast can you milk a cow, anyway??? ;)

i agree, i think we need a mailing list where we choose what products we want to be notified of that are friggin HOT for the current day-i weed through my emails daily and this would be a hot service (maybe subscribing members have this service already?)
i don't have time to check this site daily (only have time to check for stuff 2-3 times a week)

((sorry, my bad on those expire rebates from BB posted earlier))

Try, try, and try again is all I gotta say.

Been buying two drives at a time at different CC, have them ring up separately. Then go back later and have them price match to my original BB shelf tag and BB receipt for the $79.00 price. If they shoot me down, I?ll take the drive and leave, only to return later when another more agreeable customer service person is behind the counter.
Its not easy to get a store pay you $30.00 to take a 120 GB hd...

I am going to be upgrading one of my ReplayTV to 240 hours, and more storage for my web server

GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN SO CAL

Went to CC in West Covina in So Cal. This was the FOURTH CC i went to in So Cal. Spoke with a nice girl named april. No hard drives left in store. She called all the Locations close to West Covina and they had 1 left in Pasadena, which i got, and 4 left in Rancho Cucamunga. After confirming avalibility i showed her the reciept from best buy for the HD that i bought on SUN. She PM on the spot. Didnt check date, didnt call to check stock, she just PMed. NO QUESTIONS NO ARGUMENT. AND she gave me the rebate forms!!!!! guess i got lucky?!?!?! Went to pick up HD in Pasadena, NO PROBLEM. 2 120 gig HD for 80 bucks. NOT BAD at all....
Good luck to all the rest of you in So Cal. I hope this information helps.

After buying three of these (one at best buy, one for full price at CC which I was unsuccessful at PM'ing later, and one that they PM'ed but wouldn't give me the receipts), I'm happy to say I don't even have to use the web rebates. I took my PM'ed receipt to another CC and they printed out my rebate receipts with no question. That asshole manager who ripped them up when I bought it can suck it. Just feels better to have the real thing than to use the web rebates. I know, irrational, right? I'm pretty freakin happy. I took the other two back.

I tried to PM at BB. As usual both stores said they can't PM with rebates. They have told me that they follow some of these threads. No pay today. CUSA had the drive for $159.99 with a $80 rebate and CC offered to order the drive.

Does Circuit City or Western Digital have any issues with the web rebate forms instead of that computer print out? Nots like the CC rebate form print for the WD rebate is the same as the rebate form I got from Frys.

They ripped up mine too, and went to another store and they won't print it.

Honestly if you got a CC to PM you, you can use the web rebates, no problem. The CSR who printed out my rebate forms said as much. She was like "you could've just used the ones on the web site." Anyway, keep trying to get the rebate forms printed out, just take in only your receipt. It should eventually work, the girl who did mine I don't think even noticed how much I'd paid or how much the rebates were for. I just told her I didn't get them when I bought it, and she had no questions.

If you are just uncertain about the web rebates, as I was, I would say keep trying at different hours (when different CSRs and managers will be there) and at different CCs. Good luck!

Ollie:

Which OC stores have you tried?

Why would a shelf tag in a store open to the public not constitute an advertisement?

It's not an ad. ;)

Legally, I believe, it is an "in-store advertised price". So it is an ad, alibeit an in-store one.

This is kind of like saying the CircuitCity legal team is incompetent. I think they know the definition of an advertisement and if it was their policy to only pricematch NEWSPAPER advertisements, I think they would have made that clear in their pricematch policy and not left this giant loophole in there. But, you could be right. I tried Irvine, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach.
